upon first listen, the standout tracks for me are the grants, a&w, candy necklace, margaret, paris texas, peppers, and taco truck. honestly, every song was amazing, but i need more time with some tracks. mainly, kintsugi. first listens are usually forgettable anyways. 

 

Is Candy Necklace as massive as Kintsugi said?

That makes 3 of us.  I didn't like knowing most of Blue Banisters before it came out, so I am completely avoiding leaks this time around. It's rough, but we'll make it!

While I don't want SYTH being the big surprise, I would love a final polished version with some minor lyrical tweaks so it can be my first dance song at my wedding 

I'm not sure if anyone has said this yet and I apologize if someone did, but after I listened the first few times, there was something about the song that sounded so familiar to me. I finally realized the "Do you think about heaven? Do you think about me?" melody is the same as "And all of what's hidden, well, it will never grow cold" from Terrence Loves You. I'm really loving all these callbacks to her previous work

I'm watching it again and it looks like she wrote it on the microphone herself, but still, why is she signing a random microphone?

I don't know how to embed Instagram videos, but I just saw a video of her signing things and holding a microphone that says DYKTTATUOB. A tour has to be coming! 

I'm waiting until release day to listen to the album because knowing most of Blue Banisters before it came out kinda ruined the experience for me, but reading everyone's comments has me SO EXCITED.

I ended up doing the same thing. It was $5 more for me because I didn't order the other 7" before, but I'm happy I'll be getting both now

I think I'll get one of the 7" with Lana, but I don't know which one to pick. I'm kinda leaning towards the one with Hollywood Bowl on it because it's longer and has strings, but I feel like Lost at Sea may be a MAC reference. I'm torn

So happy for you!  I got the jacket off the US site and the necklace from the UK once it sold out in the US. I didn't realize it would be cheaper there with the discount code, otherwise I would have ordered both from the UK!

We need a boxset that's a combination of the Ultraviolence and Honeymoon ones. A special vinyl like the Ultraviolence boxset and a bunch of gorgeous pictures like the Honeymoon boxset. (I know the Ultraviolence one also came with pictures, but the Honeymoon one had many more.)

I refreshed my email and saw Lana Del Rey at the top and had a heart attack because I thought she dropped the merch, but it was just the A&W emails being pushed to the top

I really am getting Laura Palmer vibes from this song. Laura was always writing in her secret diary about her darkest and innermost thoughts, which is exactly the feeling this song and I think the album in general will be giving, matched beautifully with the album art of Lana looking like a girl from the past full of secrets of her own that will start to spill out as her restlessness gets the best of her.

 

The second part is so fascinating because it's like we rewind back to a place where the version of Lana that's singing doesn't see the darkness that we can see, it is all fun and games for her. She does wanna get high with Jimmy over and over, she does think it's funny when his mom calls, she does just wanna vibe without a thought beyond the repetition of an endless good time. But through the questions asked in the first half of the song and the menacing production that follows, we're able to see an outcome that she doesn't see yet. Even Laura Palmer had fun walking with fire until it was too late 

I LOVE the Twin Peaks comparison.  The song does feel very Lynchian, especially the transition to the second half

I'm late to the party, but all I can say is WOW.  Even with the descriptions the insiders gave us, it was much different than I expected. I think it fits Kintsugi's description of dark and berserk but vulnerable perfectly. The transition to the Jimmy part is insane and I can't get the whole second half out of my head. THIS WOMAN
