So just in general… have you guys been opening and playing all of your variants or are you leaving some unopened? So far I’ve played my Amazon vinyl and my target vinyl. Haven’t opened my white vinyl yet or picture disc… curious how they sound, but am also considering leaving them untouched. Do you think leaving them unopened is a waste of money, or is it better if you ever want to sell them in the future?

So far, I’ve only opened and played my standard vinyl variant. I don’t plan on playing the other variants, but I’m not sure yet if I want to open them or not. I think it’s better for potential resale if they’re unopened, but I also want to look through the picture inserts so I might end up opening them! Plus I’m not sure if I’ll ever resell them anyways :blush3:

For anyone else still waiting for their magazine, my Rolling Stone FINALLY came today. I ordered directly from their website. Took a month and a day from when it was supposedly shipped. Annoying it took so long, but I'm relieved I finally got it :grinds:

Now if only LDR village would ship my damn air fresheners

Did you get any kind of shipment notice email, or did the magazines just arrive?

do u think this was considered for tropico or it was already in consideration for a movie before the paradise album release?

I think she had originally written it as just a normal song on a record (so could be Tropico, given the timing), and then they decided to use it for the Great Gatsby soundtrack. I'm like 85% sure I saw that somewhere, maybe in the album process discussion forum

They kind of missed Paradise though. Maybe they don't follow a specific order. (Especially as Songs like Ride really deserve their own merch collection.)

Which era did the heart necklace get sold in? Would make sense to release a new version with the suitable LDR village era drop, even though it seems more likely they will sell it through the regular US store. But during the Chemtrails era, the two shops got kind of merged, maybe they'll do this again.

They started selling the necklace during the Endless Summer tour! I swear I remember seeing it at the concert in 2014, but not buying it because it was expensive. Jokes on me now because I paid double the price to eventually get it :rollin:

As a huge Ride stan, I agree that Ride NEEDS its own merch collection :trisha:

One of my biggest reasons for not buying Lana’s merch (aside from price) is that many designs seem to not use official fonts or logos, and use photos from different eras for different albums. For example, the LDR eyes hoodie that says Blue Banisters under it. Nothing on that looks like something you’d relate to the music.

Theres just a rlly big disconnect between ldrvillage and Lana’s music. I wouldn’t mind t shirts with just a photo of the album or Lana on them, like the Peyote one and Paradise one from years ago. As long as it is actually cohesive :awkney:

I agree, with this drop especially. Except the shirt that’s supposed to look like a campaign shirt with the titty pic I guess. I was confused what the masquerade masks and the rear view mirror had to do with Ocean Blvd. like there’s so many cool designs they could’ve done for this album (ocean pics, candy necklaces, peppers, tacos even lol)

I’m Mr. Worldwide with Lana stores at the moment LOL- I’ve got orders from the US, CA, UK and AUS stores in waiting for…

I swear I could’ve almost bought another jacket with the amount I’ve paid in shipping 💀

LOLLLL I can’t even think about how much I’ve spent on shipping. The way they played us on these drops and then restocked a lot of the stuff, really to get all of the suckers like me to pay for shipping like at least half a dozen times. And also how the bundles were only available in some stores I can’t  :eartha:

I understand that for most people. any one song should have a maximum of one emotion, but Lana's songs have never been that restrictive. Go back to Born To Die and actually listen to the songs - almost every one of them is trying to show us how point of view works in music.

I agree on this point. The emotions Text Book evokes actually remind me a lot of Born to Die (the song). Longing for what’s lost/nostalgia + hope that you’ll get what’s lost back + uncertainty for the future. I feel like those emotions sum up a lot of Lana’s music

I think Dark Paradise and Fingertips are connected, and she has been talking about her su*cide attempt in the ocean:

"All my friends tell me I should move on
I'm lying in the ocean, singing your song

...I wish I was dead (dead, like you)"

"When I was fifteen, naked, next-door neighbors did a drive-by
Pulled me up by my waist, long hair to the beach side
I wanted to go out like you, swim with the fishes"

On these following lines she is talking about a rebirth, as she was saved from the ocean and became a star she is today; like the goddess Aphrodite was born from the sea:

"Let it crash over me like the waves in the sea

Call me Aphrodite as they bow down to me"

I also wonder if this is all related to Kill Kill, especially because it was originally titled “The Ocean” and she has that line in the demo that goes:

“Fresh from the shore, blond hair is wide

    The ocean makes me cry”

Wow, that’s such an insightful connection :icant:

I saw her in Vegas at the LA to the Moon Tour. It was one of the last stops before the tour ended and I could tell she was so goddamn over it - more than half of the songs were performed by the crowd. Love Lana down, but that’s why I’m hesistant to travel to go see her. General admission floor was also the PITS, I will only ever see her again if I have seats.

100%. Like you don’t want to pay to travel, pay for expensive tickets (especially festival tickets) and then have the artist not actually sing that much lol. I feel the exact same way and why I decided not to see her in Chicago this summer. plus I feel too old for music festivals

Fwiw, I saw lana in 2014 and 2018, and the 2014 concert was a much better performance. I totally respect that she doesn’t like to perform that much, but if you have fans that are paying a lot of money to come see you, you need to sing your songs!
