EXACTLY and they really let her voice shine!! She has such powerful vocals and I'm so glad we finally got to see what she does with Minute live Tour can't come soon enough!!
-
There's a part of me that lives in an alternate universe where the major celebrity collab of the Feed the Beast era is David Guetta. Just feels like such an opportunity for her as the dance club queen...
-
It's kind of wild to see what we ultimately got as an album given the outtakes. IMO Lolita, Power, Try Again, etc. while fantastic songs don't fit the vibe (club bangers) of all the other songs created and ultimately selected for the album. uhoh, King of Hearts, Castle in the Sky, etc. all really feel cohesive to me as a record, and I don't think the (otherwise fantastic) recordings we've heard for the other prospective songs would've sounded good on the final. Try Again especially really does feel like a first step away from Problematique as opposed to something that makes sense on the final record.
-
Exactly! I especially like Minute as a "final" song because of its central idea-- that you should really go, but you like the person you're singing to too much to do it... So it would be really cute to have her do an entire hour+-long show and then pretend like she's leaving, only to return with a song whose literal first lines are "It's getting late / you should be going..." because it IS getting late and we SHOULD be going but we JUST WANT TO HEAR HER DO ANOTHER SONG! This is also why I can only accept Minute as an album closer. Honestly, I hope whatever she performs that's unreleased does eventually get released. Those are both songs I really like (I think Alien especially gets kind of slept on for sounding so Disney Channel Movie soundtrack-y, but that's not necessarily a bad thing) but I'm scared of getting teased if she's not going to put them out!! It would be super cute for her to perform something from Candy or Problematique as well... and I definitely wouldn't say no to music that we haven't heard but might be released in the future.

Charli's music video for Speed Drive used Vroom Vroom as her ringtone... Felt like shouting out how Sophie's production on Vroom Vroom changed pop forever in addition to influencing Speed Drive. Speed Drive couldn't exist without Sophie's work. Miss her so much

Okay enough silence. What are we praying for re: setlists? Kim's one of the few artists where I genuinely wouldn't mind hearing ANY song from her live, even the ones I'm not usually listening to I really enjoy seeing her performances for, so I'm having trouble putting together a dream setlist. Right now my only wishes are: 1) she does Minute SPECIFICALLY as an encore 2) TOTL section, obviously 3) Slut Pop doesn't overpower the other sections of the show (I like it and it is so fun live but I worry her team will make it her Say So at the expense of other work) 4) One (1) unreleased song

THANK YOU! I wasn't sure what was different to begin with which just goes to show... I like both of these to various extents but I get why they're not on FtB. Honestly I think FtB is more cohesive with just the songs made for it. Still def saving and listening though.
-
FTR I do love the new songs on FtB! Her strongest work so far in my opinion. The album in my mind is flawless. It's just that the album IRL is not the album in my mind and I feel like I have to be real about that... I understand why the critics (who have to rate the album as it is, not as it could be) aren't thrilled.
-
This is also fair BTW! (sorry I'm super late LOL) it seems like obviously they weren't letting her put out anything that was good for her fanbase OR new fans so at this point whatever it takes for them to 'trust' her enough to let her do her thing. Problematique for example would've netted the exact same 'Katy Perry rejects' claim only it would've been an incredible album that thrilled her personal fanbase so hopefully her label eases up now that she's done what they want. What I would do for a version of the final cut with the explicit lyrics in... I got you sugar (I can't hear the difference though?? Somebody help me out...)
-
I'm starting to agree with the reviewers who say she 'sold out' stylistically in that she didn't offer anything other artists couldn't do. I think the most both Kim and mainstream-palatable thing on here is King of Hearts, but I agree that very little stands out if you're not into Kim (and aren't bowled over by her vocals). I adore the new songs on the album but that's probably true, and it makes me sad that her team let TOTLV3 (a project nobody could EVER say was anything but Kim) go by the wayside for an attempt to 'mainstream' Kim that was never going to work. Kim on her own generated her current fanbase. Kim cosplaying other artists, or trying to be on the level of mainstream success as Katy Perry in a time when the biggest artists are people like Harry Styles and Olivia Rodrigo (i.e. club music is probably not gonna make you the biggest artist right now) is not fair to her as someone who makes good music (and has a decent, if not A-list, audience!) when she just lets herself be herself.

This really is everything... never seen this photoshoot before and it's GORGEOUS. Might get me to switch though I adore the camp lollipop cover Thoughts on the new leaks.... I really like Power (though I don't think it's good enough for FtB admittedly; those new tracks are the peak of her career IMO), Bread is interesting enough that I'd like to hear it from whatever singer it was shopped around to, and Eventually makes me pray for the full leak of Candy imminently. Have we all heard the alt version now leaked through the same site? Also thinking about where to put Power since I likely won't put it on my FtB tracklist... I wonder if it would play nice with something off Clarity?? Or maybe a kind of B-side to Control on Candy as a bonus song?
-
AHHHHHHHH THANK YOU!! Sounds heavenly I love that you kept the sample back in the beginning of KoH but included the synths in the last chorus... ESPECIALLY the uhoh changes are so good!! I'm so glad you kept the OG "let's go let's go"!! Kind of obsessed with the inclusion of non-TOTL tracks on the TOTL3 tracklist... I don't get how Nothin/Sell My Soul works with the sound of the other songs but I think I'll have to listen in this order and see if you can change my mind
-
Angelic now where are the FtB remakes and your TOTLV3 tracklist........... (the girls are dying)
-
I bookmarked this thread to lurk in at page 298... we've come so far girlies
-
1) angel 2) you still need to share your edits of FTB tracks with me Ooooooooooh TY!! My bad for only following dbree I wonder why people posted DTF with that title then?? Clearly they were on to something... I agree though honestly I also think a lot of the critics have been leaning too hard on the "Katy Perry rejects" label for this album and it's frankly confusing. I might be blinded by (not knowing anything about music &) really loving this album, but as someone who also loves Teenage Dream-era KP, this doesn't feel like that at all? When was Katy Perry ever making club music?? Problematique absolutely feels like Teenage Dream Revival (in a good way) but this project is so much more original and fun and interesting... I'm especially sad because all the tracklists posted here were SO much more cohesive and so drastically better as a listening experience than the official one and I feel like that especially did not put her best foot forward. If it were only Coconuts and Unholy that'd be one thing (Unholy doesn't differ too much from the overall vibe IMO especially as a bonus track) but then to also add all three Problematique songs?? Especially when her team was ostensibly trying to push her to more conventional success when they scrapped that album, to release tracks in this way is so counterproductive to that goal... UGH rant over. Praying for Problematique this summer as her team realizes it truly does not matter what she does it's the diehard fans who keep buying merch & tour tickets and then TOTLV3 after that amen and goodnight.

Yeah I was just inspired to go back to my TOTLV3 tracklist by finding out my favorite versions of Claws and FTB wouldn't be on the album
-
I'm so confused because it's definitely Dance to Forget (previously leaked in full around Problematique era) right?? Like the snippets I've seen even include the Dance to Forget part (& now there's an interestingly worded upload to the same effect on dbree) IDK if/what we're allowed to link so to find each of them just search on the aforementioned website (): 1. "Kim Petras Shut Up Scream Don't Stop Leave" (also link posted earlier in the thread somewhere) 2. "Kim Petras Feed The Beast (NEW DEMO)" 3. if you search "Kim Petras Claws demo" it's the earliest upload with no demo numbers or anything 4. OMG not this typo. see 6-12 5. (Party Til I Die is an official release) 6-12. "Kim Petras Turn Off The Lights 3 Scrapped Concept" (it's a .zip)
-
Soooooo now that FTB is out & some gorgeous material didn't make it what are we thinking for TOTLV3 tracklists out of what we have? RN I have (ignore the order): Feed the Beast demo (the one with the high pitched whine throughout; not sure which number) Claws demo (OG demo) Scream! Party Til I Die Blood sucker (1.3)* ghost (1.5)* haunted house (interlude) (1.1)* intro demo (1.1)* Living dead (1.3)* Screwdriver (interlude) (1.2)* take my life 2.1* *from the leaked .zip of TOTL in-progress files Are there any other tracks/demos you guys put on your tracklists? found this (& the titling popped off!) but nothing else so far

Hello... & because nobody's posted it yet, the TODAY performance was STUNNING. Alone, King of Hearts, Thousand Pieces, and Heart to Break, and her vocals on all four are unmissable IMO. Now I just need a studio live of King of Hearts...
-
Not me missing the links because of my timezone

She said 3 from FTB (1 a live debut) and 1 classic on Twitter sooooo… songs left to perform live: Feed the Beast, Castle in the Sky, Claws, Thousand Pieces, BAIT (but she’s not gonna perform a track with a feature without a feature live before people have heard it on the album is she??), Minute songs performed live: Brrr, Alone, King of Hearts, uhoh, Coconuts, Unholy, Sex Talk, Hit it From the Back, Revelations I feel like the absolute most likely live debut is Feed the Beast but I’d still die for Castle in the Sky or Minute live. For the classic I can only think of If U Think About Me for some reason… I would love for her to get people into her Era 1 tracks that way (though Heart to Break or Can’t Do Better might make more logical sense). And the best part of Kim lives is always the adlibs & the way she changes her delivery on each performance so I know I’ll be happy no matter what I need my studio lives!!
-
I figured it out! It's definitely Big Freedia in her track Explode, which Beyonce also sampled for Break My Soul. It's definitely the same sound & it's credited on Break My Soul
-
Good Q! Just relistened to both (wasn't sure which one was in my tracklist :X) and I was thinking of the demo; honestly I like that "let's go" more than the apparent final...
-
Do we know who the “let’s go, let’s go” sample in uhoh is? Sounds like Big Freedia
-
For the record I have Control, Crave it, Pressure, & (OG) Choker, BUT they're all dbree DLs & I don't know anything about sound quality Songs that have only leaked as snippets: Gimme Sum, Eventually Songs that haven't leaked at all (AFAIK): Candy, Tough Luck, Dirty Dirty, Say Something, Fascination, Finessed It, & the remake of Choker ???: A remake of Push Push Push leaked but isn't on the tracklist pic
