tbh i actually enjoy them being short.. it makes them have a 2nd replay value nowdays, plus i feel that when you make a long song it needs to be a fleshed out, more determined, world-building song and not a copy pasty one, sometimes an idea for a song gives enough to make it to 2 min or less like pinkpantheress, and if the theme has enough to talk about or the vibe is a serious or more ambient one it can elongate, if not it renders the song ridiculous and boring. remeber before 2010 the song where 3-4 minutes and so radio edits where NEEDED for it to not be boring listening the same song thru almost 5 mins.. my guess is the sophie ones will be longer since they're probably more heart felt and meaningful.. the rest being ravey, partyish songs makes sense being 2min they're not meant to be deep af, that's why von dutch is 2min, not like dreamer that it's 4min luvs

omg you all commented so much!!! i ain't reading all that, congrats or condolences that it happened... my take is: love the cover which i didn't get at first, but now it reminds me like a big statement as to not gaf, and kinda lorde ph like, and the blurred text reminds me of 2009 kitsch hotmail internet era... the photoshoot of her with the dark sky and pink boots, love that!! and the hair pop2 hiding her face on the vynil love that too. VD music vid made the song better tbh.. I was kinda unhyped before and still I'm going to take it without expectations but so far I liked this breakthrough in the rollout

noo there's no ill intention in what I said and I see your point that has somewhat of a link to the HIFN party vibe, it's just the roll out, the fact von dutch snippet was the whole song and the lack of info to hype us about the album.. idk it feels similar to me like HIFN, the visuals were not polished and clutted around (although there was fanmade art for the official releases, which seems lazy to me) she's clearly in a similar 'IDGAF' era and she just made a bunch of party songs but doesn't feel like making the whole effort of putting on an aesthetic or slay the house down.. I even get that she tried to do put effort into Crash but it didn't pay off crazy so, this time she's relaxed and I think it's just okay, she doesn't need to be in her magnum opus every next release she does, if anything, I'm greatful she did it for a whole decade..

I think the same.. VBS is what made her go viral, it needs to get out

atp I feel like the album is like a side proyect tbh.. like HIFN, not saying that HIFN is bad or anything, it just feels messy and kinda-DIY somehow, and so I'm lowering my expectations rn. Like when I think of Charli's discography I think TR, N1A, Pop2, Charli, Crash. Not ''Sucker'' ''HIFN'' or ''CC/360_brat'' if that makes sense... to me they're just side proyects

i agree so much with this.. love that she found someone tho but men spoil everything tbh.. and he prolly saw her as a way to get his music out there.. she needs to ditch the non marketable emo music (she even said it was her trying to get some coins) and go back to her H4.U era-genre which is what made her famous in the first place.. ofc she should do whatever she wants but this path ain't going to make her a living for sure...
