We really don’t sh*t on Break the Rules enough. She really served us JC Pennys, Back to School Ad soundtrack as a second single. I honestly laughed out loud when she was talking about recording it on And The Writer Is... and admitted that she came out of writing and said “A really stupid person is gonna end up singing this song”.

See I was the opposite, it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting on the first listen and I even lied to myself about thinking it was good. But revisting Sucker it is one of the few albums I know of that actually gets worse every time I listen to it. To be fair, I’m the one defending it, and I am also one of the most vocal supporters of her releasing the legendary potential #1 with the right promo and discography highlight, Come to My Party

The fact that some of you are fans because of Sucker baffels me because I cannot imagine hearing that album and thinkibg “wow this is an artist I’d like to listen to”. I remember getting SuperLove which at the time was her best song to date, and then Boom Clap and thinking her album of pop perfection was coming and then the mess known as Sucker arrived and I was soooooo disappointed.

Die Tonight slander is so ugly. Its a cute song, she just hated it because it was meant for One Direction and not her.

That album that we know as Sucker was originally a punk album written and recorded with Patrik Berger (and I think some with Justin Raisen) that was written out of the frustration with the music industry after I Love It blew up and everyone wanted her to recreate it, and didnt care about TR. Tracks like Breaking Up, Hanging Around, London Queen, Sucker, and (I believe) Gold Coins were cleaned up and put on the released Sucker. I dont think it was explicity titled “Sucker Punch”, I believe thats a fanmade title. There are 2 tracklists people reference, one was a fake tracklist that surfaced around when Sucker came out, and the other is a speculated tracklist based on the songs we got in the Aug 2018 leak. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong anyone. I never really cared that much about the Sucker era, so my details may be off.
