It's just sort of culturally insensitive because, Indian reservations tend to have really bad conditions (although there are many exceptions) and the poverty rates are higher and quality of life lower for native Americans. Yet pop culture icons take things like the native headdress and wear them as a fashion item, and get all this attention for being so cool and trendy. But it may be sort of upsetting for a Native American because in their culture the headdress is something sacred that should be earned so. It's a mix of it being a double standard that pop culture takes elements of minority culture, yet they still end up on the crappier side of society. And also the fact that it's sort of insensitive to native cultures/customes. obviously these type of things aren't meant to be intentionally insensitive or harmful but I think it says something interesting about how societies are. Anyway glad to know she's a bit more woke now
