I think it’s the best way to build hype for the album that’ll actually translate to album streams and therefore sales. For the most part, the people who were going to pre order the album have done so already and what we need now is to focus on streaming. By having the song and video come out on release day it’ll build hype for streaming the song and since it’s the opener people will hopefully keep listening. The next song is COCC which is a beauty and then TJF should be freaky cool enough and it’ll draw people in!

    This would be very cool! I’d like to see more singles after the album is out with “realtime” music videos. It adds to the experience of the album for me. We get to make our own stories and visualizations of what the songs represent before.

    Srsly tho I vibe with this thought so much. Raised super conservative and now a full fledged KWEEN I’m constantly thinking about this dichotomy. I bet a lot of people who come and go from the church struggle with this near identitty crisis. :judgingu:

    God is a good thing, but we play God now. Lana might question what Gods will/plan is and what is not. It really is an identitty crisis.

    TJF - Her man has a different view on life and that’s ok with Lana. She doesn’t want to change him, but wants her lover to feel the same?

    LMLYLAW - Lana takes full control of her own desires. She wants her lover to choose. Build a life together by starting anew or wants him to stay in her past.
     

    I can’t tell if I understand the full message of the songs especially TJF since we only have a part of that song. These three songs seem very sweet, but why would she question the culture and just make an album with lullaby love songs?

    Yes that’s what I expected, but after LMLYLAW, Lana might end up on her own. Her man won’t follow her tracks. It seems to me song 5, 6 and 7 have a dark theme

    I’m happy to see National Anthem made a comeback :toofunny:

     

    She would be blind to not see she only needs to perform BtD, VG and Summertime Sadness now. The other BtD (Paradise excluded) songs don’t add anything anymore. Tho I’d be sad to see Blue Jeans being left out of the tracklist on a future tour

    it was a nice thing we got hope right after NFR! dropped. We knew we would get a new album soon and here we are. It’s the second best rollout since Ultraviolence I’d say. Honeymoon had a better one

    With Venice Bitch there is a lot of hidden lyricism. I think White Dress won’t really tell a chronicle story, but more in its entirety. Double meanings. ‘White dress’ and ‘waitress’ have a similar sound for example
