Lust For Life will forever be my favorite album, but I can still accept the flaws with it. COTCC is also another favorite of mine, and I can also see the flaws with it.

The difference I’ve found is (typically, obviously not every single one of them!) most Norman fans won’t accept anything less than Norman being her absolute best and refuse to acknowledge any flaws/valid complaints against the album.

I’ve never been one to say one album is ‘objectively her best’ since it’s all matter of opinion, but (again, some, not all!) NFR lovers are the FIRST to tell you how wrong your opinion is if you don’t place it on the golden seat.

Yeah, unfortunately her fandom seems to attract lots of tóxicas that have made me feel a bit alienated, but I also think I’m just getting older lol. I typically don’t like fans who hyperfixate on any album/producer of hers and put down others for what they like, it’s such juvenile behavior.

    I highly disagree

LFL haters/Norman lovers (who are usually the same group) are the most insufferable to me

I love both cause guess what? I’m vers  NFR will always be the best sequel to LFL, which contains her most underrated song in her entire discography God Bless America :krylie: (really though, LFL is just such a fond album for me, I loved that era so so so much)

  3. Loved her music growing up and even like a few songs off her most recent album, she so ridiculous though I’m sorry :eartha: not sure who asked for the movie/music video and the accompanying documentary (even though I watched both LOL). I don’t really care about the tabloid stories about her, she’s just so interesting to watch. Reminds of Xtina

I remember lots of the Urban Outfitters vinyl like Honeymoon and NFR ending up on clearance

somewhat unrelated but I remember when the general consensus was that HM was her worst album cover, and people didn’t exactly like the UO cover either :judgingu3: so strange how times change

  6. I only got a link for the “girl so confusing” memo and I thought she was telling us that she’s confused on how to use the community texts :toofunny:

  7. I enjoyed the cover but I will always have a bias/preference for shoegaze/dream pop :oprah3: it did take me a couple of listens but it clicked - I think the production is very great.

I think what I enjoy the most about it though is that it’s a more unique song for a Lana cover compared to Video Games, Young and Beautiful, Summertime Sadness, etc. I’m glad to hear that her more “deep cut” music is influenced a well known band in the shoegaze/alt 90s music scene.

if you like the track, do check out their first album as it’s great (the track Kick the Tragedy and Winona are great). They’re also probably the most prominent American shoegaze band, which is pretty cool (most of them are from the UK). It was funny - I was listening to Winona recently and there’s a line: “Another record shop story that was born to die”
