  1. The title alone just gives me NFR title track vibes. I’m so happy we’re so in the dark about this album as a whole, it’s so mysterious and exciting. 6 more days until we jsut have a month
  2. No same!! But the second part is a nice treat. I would’ve loved it even more if it was more trip-hop/downtempo though
  3. I love the “I say I live in Rosemead, really I’m at the Ramada” line. As someone who grew up in LA, I don’t know too much about that area but I do know it’s a pretty suburban area similar to Arcadia, so I get the somewhat peaceful imagery from that. Then it’s juxtaposed with the Ramada mention, which is a cheap hotel chain. It does give me the vibe of her old Lizzy songs, being from *nowhere* but having these affairs with other people in cheap hotels while maintaining the image of someone living a simple suburban life. Idk what if that’s what I means but I just get that imagery everytime I listen to it.
  4. I feel like you can look at a lot of her recent songs (that seem to be about someone else) actually being about herself. I remember someone telling me that they see Venice Bitch as a song about her private life vs her public life with concerts/fans (‘you write, I tour, we make it work’ and ‘you’re beautiful and I’m insane’) and it’s so interesting to see her songs in that vein I still see it as a love song lol but
  5. I never understood this argument. It would be another story if they sounded, like, exactly the same but overall I like most of his produced songs even if they share the same whatever as long as they’re not a complete copy. I remember someone pointed out how Kevin Abstract’s Baby Boy was a “recycled” The Louvre by Lorde because of its guitar intro and I was like…I don’t really care since the songs are different anyways? They’re both amazing songs and also it just takes away from the artist’s own choices themselves. I feel like most producers have a signature sound anyways and we just know Jack’s more because he’s producing for everyone these days
  6. Now knowing how the NFR sample is on A&W is, I’m SO curious how the VB sample will be on Taco Truck I’m guessing similar to how it was on A&W but maybe more in your face/frequent, which I’m perfectly fine with I’m so excited omg
  7. I’m pretty sure people are drawing the comparisons to sound, right? I definitely see the rock band from 70s or 90s comparisons in the first half since it’s straight up folk and a bit progressive. They’re pretty glaring. I’ve heard influences from Hotel California and Going to California with the guitar, and even some Trent Reznor with the piano. I don’t really hear Melodrama in the first half, second half it’s is definitely there though. But tbh I hear more Masseduction, like Hang On Me.
  8. according to last.fm I've scrobbed this song 133 times already so good. also realized the guitar in the song reminds me a bit of Hotel California by the Eagles
  9. My only complaint is that the ending is a bit abrupt..I wish she ended it in a VB way by introducing a new line or something or a fade out would’ve been iconic tbh
  10. I feel like I see AW the way some people see WW tbh…I finally get it (I’m still neutral about WW though lol)
  11. Venice Bitch keeps on playing on my radio right after A&W it's like catharsis after catharsis
  12. my prediction seems to be right tbh...this album seems like an amalgamation of the best parts (or an improvement of lackluster parts) of all her post HM albums
  13. part 1 is what i wanted blue balls to be tbh
  14. Sounds very very similar to Going to California by Led Zeppelin to me I love it I think i might prefer part 1 tbh
