Female rap (2010s-onwards) is a style that's absolutely not for me

These labels heard one Doja Cat song and said copy + paste

People who classify specific types of music as inferior are pretentious and punchable.

Especially with hip hop, i havent immersed to it myself, but the good stuff thats coming out is all underground.

There's just as much effort and creativity involved in making a dance bop as it is to make a piano ballad. I always roll my eyes whenever I see people who comment on music tastes pointing out how they should have "outgrown" it by now.

I also think we're in a spot people are taking pop more seriously, with Dua, Carly Rae and Jessie Ware putting out quailty pop music with tought put in it; just unfortunate that the pop songs with no tought put into them are the ones charting

I am a big fan of Imagine Dragons and I also really enjoy (most of) Oliver Tree’s music

I like'd IDs firt record, but they feel too chart concious for me now. The redundant production and cocnstant radio plays of Thunder and Believer doesn't help either. Same for Oliver, i lost hype after the first record which was packed with hit after hit

I read that there is something coming this fall - is that reliable info or just one of those bs rumors?

This fall is PHs 10th anniversary.. so if true, either an anniversary edition or new music to commemorate?

There was also a shirt with 'bloodsucker' on it which could be a lyric in 'vampire' or it could be the next single or the album's title. What do y'all think? A lot of people have said that the album is going to be called 'Lunar Eclipse'

Oh it’s ha Illuminati induction era 🧛‍♀️🌙🩸👁️

she bout to eat y’all faves

  5. I’m not religious, but as someone who had a grandfather who practiced witchcraft in Puerto Rico, and knowing how seriously Azealia takes it (the chickens in the closet, cat skull), I wouldn’t take the hexing lightly. She showcases daily that she mentally unwell and lord knows what energy she puts out to the world.

speaking things into existence, and manifestation of energy are real things.

someone tell her that there are websites that mix and master songs for free to $100. She should worry about putting out comprehensible, competent music and not hexing people over moronic beef from 70 years ago

  6. Ah yes, one stream, which equals $0.0000001 is a huge cash grab and inauthentic to the Lana Del Rey brand 🙄

What happened to the old LanaBoards? So much bitching and complaining about Lana’s every move nowadays. Some of y’all have been fans for a decade, and still complain about the same things, but would never dare to have the same energy with other generic artists who have zero say or direction with their art. If she wants to release Betty Boop Boop with a remix by BloodPop let her! No one is holding you at gun point to love or listen to it.

omg thank you for these recs. I made this one before i saw your replies but i'll play around with it again. I like to make themes and narratives with retracklistings, so in this one, she falls in love over someone but realizes her self worth. With Boyfriend at the end, she is back to look for a partner, but with more confidence.

I think it's this: she used to be writing from her own experience but in a manner that was for a public, an audience, of some kind. In other words, she extrapolated her personal experience into something many or most could relate to, made it 'universal,' and that was part of her genius in that era.

But since NFR! she's been 'inward gazing' a lot more and 'outward looking' a lot less.

So I get the sense that she's now writing 100% what she wants to write, produce, and release, free of any feeling that she has to write for an audience of any kind.

Actually, this might have started with 'Honeymoon,' which she said she more-or-less created to please herself, and then taken a reversal with the more-fan-and-radio friendly LFL.

But then she went full-tilt back into creating whatever she wants, free of any thoughts about her public, or a public, period. So we hear a lot more about walking to the mall, watching television, meeting for coffee, and doing the laundry--not exactly the stuff of of tense risk-taking, passion, and romance.

Sometimes, as artists mature, they do leave the 'general public' behind--look at Joni Mitchell--she not only left the 'general public' behind after 'Court & Spark,' she left most of her diehard fans behind too, starting with 'The Hissing of Summer Lawns.'

In a Rolling Stone interview, she said, 'I'm going to be criticized regardless, and I'd rather be criticized for changing and doing what I want rather than for staying the same."

nice. apply this to yourself with lana now

  9. I’m trying to make a SelenaGomez2 tracklist with Fetish and Bad Liar as the focal points since they were the original SG2 (and I can’t find a concept tracklist wither). but none of the other songs from the 2017-2020 time range really fit with each other. The other track lists is see here keeps Fetish/BL as deluxe tracks. Anyone have a good tracklist idea?
