  1. So excluding folklore/evermore, reputation, lover, and Midnights have a similar overall soundscape, so I'm making a "album" out of all of the love songs. This is what I have so far; lmk what other songs to add/ what should be rearranged in the tracklist

    Lavender Haze

    Maroon

    Lover

    Snow on the Beach

    Delicate

    The Archer

    Daylight

    New Year's Day

i wasn’t referring to charts btw. i brought up other artists releasing vinyls because it’s relevant to why lana could have pushed her date back. there is limited production for vinyls available due to the limited amount of pressing plants that make all the vinyls for the industry. lana said herself that she can’t just do a digital release even if she wanted to, she has to release physicals at the same time. if a lot of artists are requesting vinyls, then that will affect distribution dates

i also just saw that Britney Spears is re-issuing all of her albums again but in standard black vinyl

Lana is such an enigma - she has this intense passion for creating music, but when it comes to the process of putting it out into the world, she seems to care very little. it's even bordered on trolling at times, especially with the BB trio artwork. I have zero expectations for her in terms of rolling out music in a meaningful way. to be a Lana fan now is simply to listen to the music, whenever it arrives. expect anything else and you're priming yourself for disappointment

all of the gay GenZ twinks people here are used to the pop machine that delivers products with specific datelines, and Lana has been able to circumvent most of that as long as she does the bare minimum of what her label/management needs from her. If the people that have been a fan of hers since UV are STILL looking for conventional release dates from Lana, they should wear a clown nose to compliment that feeling

I don’t get why people are so hung up on the chart debut position :rip:

even if bigger artists are releasing around the same time, she will still sell roughly the same amount? There’s no real difference if she sells 70k and debuts at #5 during a highly competitive week or #1 during a dead week. The album still generates the same revenue from those sales and streams?

it’s not like she’s a struggling artist that needs strong figures to back up her standing with her label.

some people take it too hard because numbers and statistics are a mental hobby; good statistics are used to compliment whether or not something is inherently good, and people use it as solid evidence that said thing (movie, music, sports team, consumer electronics, etc.) is worth something, even if its not.

People like to argue about high chart positions because it validates the music they listen to.

just as heterosexuals like to argue about sport scores, homosexuals argue about music chart position

Just as someone doesn't care about how many #1's or Grammys Rihanna has, I don't care about how many home runs or championship rings Tom Brady has. Its all subjective

  4. I think what concerns me is that for the last couple of years people have asked for a lot of things (especially new themes that were supposed to be put in since NFR ) but i don't really ever see them  be implemented; idk if its a lack of manpower or if those suggestions are just not able to be implemented in the first place due to Invision

my list of suggestions that no one will use

    • close registration - open it up a few times a year (new years day, lana's birthday, and if a new album/project is announced)
    • anyone's first post will have to be approved by a mod
    • you cannot post status updates until 20 posts
    • you cannot make a thread until 100 posts
    • the ability for mods to pin comments in threads - this makes it easier to catch up on new info
    • new site themes (i know one is being made for TUOB but past album eras deserve love too)
    • the community representative idea that @Maltese Falcon had (and make the title yellow!)
    • supporters (and community reps if that becomes a real thing) can change their name more quickly & have higher quality PFPs

i might add more to this list if more comes to mind :w8ing:

Having the most Grammys, yeah they must really hate her…

lol do you realize that they love to give POC and artists in general they dont "really fuck with" crumbs and dust bunnies, and give them these fake record-breaking nonsense like "most nominations" or "won most awards," when they keep cock-blocking them to the actual big categories. The weight of winning Album of the Year is bigger than having 800 grammies for categories no one cares about

I’m probably the only person here with Lana and Luke Combs in my Spotify wrapped :oopna:

my bf has Lana and Chris Stapleton on his Apple Music wrapped, so close enough :oopna:

i thought the grammys were accolades for artistic excellence this song is not artistic nor excellence and its not even close to being artistic excellence

theyr're not. its a inside joke in the entertainment industry that grammys are the bottom of the barrel out of the big awards like oscars, tony, etc.

  9. If the SCAMMYs actually cared about music, they would be shoving small/unknown artists into the big categories, and have side categories focusing on them as well. But its more of a "which label has enough money to buy abc, or xyz category?" :benmawson: this is a petition for ben to buy a grammy for Lana, they're only what? twenty bucks?

I mean, no one really knows her except herself, but that's what I can infer from her song lyrics and posts. Her lyrics are sometimes a bit too superficial for me and not convincing enough to infer a deeper connection. That's not to say she's not a good songwriter, but I find some substance lacking at times.

Give us examples of  deep lyrics

i relistened to btd and idk what it is about them but some of the songs feel so unlike lana to me now even though before they sounded so quintessentially lana, especially dark paradise and summertime sadness

Agree. Feels more of a caricature of the person Lana is. But that album is definitely a classic now
