  1. sometimes I like to think that I am this super famous popstar and I wrote and performed all the songs that lana wrote. I would talk like her and I would make all the music videos she made but she didn't exist and I looked like myself. I think her music is so brilliant and I just want to be able to say that it was all me. I feel so guilty about doing this :toofunny:

What did you do for work while you trying to break into singing?

I did a couple of things, I did a website called Craigslist and I would just sort of look online for $100 jobs. Like, people will pay you $100 to do different things around the house or drive someone to New Jersey.

That's pretty brave. You can find some fucked-up stuff on Craigslist. How did you know which ones were legit?

I mean, you often don't know until you get there.

Did you ever get into trouble with that?

[Laughs] If I did, I wouldn't tell you! Let me ask you a question, do you like my music or not?

Well, I like the video for 'Video Games'. I mainly I just find you very interesting.

I'm just trying to get your general vibe.

    .......

What about your own brand of music? You originally called it Hollywood sadcore. Is that like emo?

    I don't know, what's emo?

You know, the kids with eyeliner and black hair.

I don't know? I feel like you're going to write a really fucked-up article about me. I'm a little nervous.

You're nervous? What's the worst thing anyone's ever written about you?

I don't know. There's a lot of stuff out there.

What would you do if I did write something really mean?

Nothing? I dunno [laughs], come to Australia and kill you?

But surely everyone would find out, because you're famous! And now I have it on a recording, so you can't anyway.

    Nice.

So what about your newer songs? After 'Blue Jeans' you did 'Kinda Outta Luck' and 'Born to Die', and there are some really dirty lyrics in there – like, "Let me fuck you hard in the pouring rain." Would you have put stuff like that in your original songs?

Well, my first songs were pretty autobiographical, so it's not that big a jump for me. I talked about a lot of stuff in my first record, so it's not a big departure.

I always thought you were innocent! Maybe it's your big eyes.

I think that depends on what you consider to be innocent.

  3. @@lanadelreigh  ever since she received The Billboard Trailblazer lifetime award, it validated everything she has done and more important, the way that she is going about doing it.

She finally actually truly really now knows she belongs and she is having fun being there.

Her entire being is being part of a collective, not the hits, not the money, just being that piece of wood everyone stands on in Opryland, that came from the original Ryman in Nashville

(to coin a phrase that circle that is unbroken)

or to quote Sally Field, they like her, they really like her

She told us this in "Watching the boys" with boys being a country music term for the musicians in the studio in the band

(see Lacy J. Dalton "16th Avenue"

Totally. Ever since she blew up with Video Games every single news article made her seem like a joke. She's always referred to as some broken scarlet lolita who keeps falling for bad boys or some shit like that. Even people's album reviews of her focus more on "the paradox of lana del rey"  :judgingu3:  than her actual music. Fuck, even when people interview her they objectify her. That's why we don't get any good interview material because the people interviewing her don't give a cuntfuck about her. I feel like she's finally getting comfortable and people are respecting her. Ultraviolence I felt showed a lot of people that lana is wonderful, but the era had a lot of other stuff going on ( breaking up with Barrie, the backlash from feminism, wanting to kill herself). Honeymoon on the other hand was more quiet and less problematic. Ending Honeymoon with Don't let me be misunderstood I feel like perfectly emulates what she envisioned herself as an artist to be received. It's just so beautiful to see how she keeps getting more and more respected and she's responding to it. :rollin:

  4. Is it just me or does there seem to be a real change in Lana? I feel like lana has just got so true to herself and more outgoing. Honeymoon she said was not as autobiographical, but it still seemed so raw and personal. And now she' working on new stuff coming from her "clarity of inner dialogue". She recently did so many great appearances, she cleared up whatever she had with Gaga and now she's super excited to be touring. I don't know she just seems so content and healthy and ugh she just keeps getting more beautiful. I'm seriously so happy that she's happy  :D  :D  :D  :D
