  1. oh shit these snippets have me so hyped for HM now. Like, i was excited as fuck before but now oh god i don't know if i'll be able to wait another 11 days. MtWBT is going to slay everything and everyone in full stan mode i get a bit too fucking excited but Lana gives me a perfectly good excuse also i know we're not giving a shit about sales but HM is #7 on Amazon UK right now. It was #14 a couple hours ago. Pretty sure this album is going to be more commercially successful than UV but reaching BtD success commercially will be difficult
  2. Not sure if we're counting straight male Lana fans, but add me onto the list
  3. I know and I completely understand that. I've said that I take UV as a somewhat-concept album (as I do think that there is some sort of story throughout the songs) but what I don't like at the moment is how everyone has been going at each other over the past few pages. Members have been posting so many definitions of what a concept album is and it's just been really bitter on this forum. I really like reading other members' views on Lana's songs and albums; what I don't like is how no-one can seem to disagree with someone else without having a go at that person because of one little thing that they disagree with I love the fact that these forums allow us to share our opinions and views on Lana but, like I said, everyone seems to be trying to justify their views to the point where it feels like you're being force-fed three different opinions at once. What's going on with this concept album discussion isn't sharing our predictions and views on what we think HM is going to sound like, it's more a really passive-aggressive argument over whose opinion is right. If we could disagree with each other without making it sound really bitter or 'shady', I'd love that. Instead of saying "no, you're completely wrong that's not what a concept album is that's an insult to real concept albums", why not try saying "I agree with some of that, but I personally think that..."?
  4. Oh my, I didn't realise the forums could get this worked up over whether or not Honeymoon is going to be a concept album. How about we let everyone have their own opinions about whether or not BtD and UV are concept albums and not argue and try to force feed our opinions down other peoples' throats? Also, let's let everyone have their own definitions for a concept album and let everyone decide for themselves which albums they think are concept albums; even if there was a set definition for a concept album, there might be an album that some people consider a concept album whilst others don't. If someone considers UV a concept album, is it going to ruin your life? Let's please drop these concept album shenanigans and move on
  5. @@ilovetati in Lana's way, I think it will be a concept album. I don't think it'll be a conventional concept album, if you get what I mean
  6. If it is a concept album, I hope it doesn't take it to the extremes that Cry Baby takes its theme(s) to. It runs with the concept like a religion and sometimes it feels a bit contorted just so that it can fit with the themes. I mean, kidnapping and killing your captor is taking a concept album slightly too far imo. I take UV as a concept album, though, as I think it makes more sense that way
  7. Nah I don't think it will be. In Honeymoon, Lana's speaking about how she knows the relationship isn't right but they stay together. TLY is about Lana feeling really upset about a relationship ending. HbtB is about Lana wanting to get high (by the beach) because she's independent. Unless she breaks up with said person in MtWBT and has a revelation about not being sad in relationships in GKIT, I don't think a concept album would be possible in the case of HM
  8. wait wth has been going on in this thread? the last few pages are a bit hectic
  9. I follow LDRG and they posted that promo picture of Lana with the tarot cards we were talking about a little earlier. I haven't followed them for long so I don't know how reliable they are but from what I've seen they're okay for reliability. What are the odds that we're gonna get LiB as a Target exclusive that no-one outside the US can legally obtain?
  10. I don't have an Instagram account, which songs are listed as the 'deluxe' ones? dont judge me for not having an insta account.
  11. Surely the deluxe edition would have been announced by Lana when the standard tracklisting was announced? I can't see why this wouldn't be the case
  12. Based on the song titles: Most anticipated: MtWBT Favourite song: Swan Song (Jessie Ware has me kinda biased on this one) Least favourite: 24 (not a fan of numbered titles)
  13. It wasn't even a grower for me. I loved it as soon as a saw it
  14. Honestly, the cover art is my favourite cover art Lana has done for an album so far and I don't know why
  15. Neither country Swift or Pop Swift sound like they've copied Lana at allll wtf. I can see it being about Lorde though, especially with vocals like the ones on Royals and at the start of Team. I like all three artists mentioned and I can see that Lorde has almost definitely taken inspo from Lana and Taylor's Wildest Dreams, like every single reviewer ever, clearly sounds like something pop Lana would do
  16. Blue Jeans was my favourite song on BtD (I'm sorry, I don't know why) but when I listened to the songs on UV where Lana sung in her lower range I realised how much Blue Jeans would have benefited from being released that two and a half years later, when Lana's lower range had improved. HM and TLY both sound amazing when Lana sings in her lower range, imo
  17. There was confirmation that a video for MtWBT was filmed, wasn't there?
  18. I want to quote and like this a thousand times Don't get me wrong, I love BtD and Video Games was the song that introduced me to LDR and I was entranced with the album when it was released but now that I've listened back to it so many times (and after the Lana hype/initial hate has blown over) I've realised that it's not really, for lack of a better way to put it, Lana. When VG became massive, BtD was released and it was in a similar vein to VG. I feel like the whole of BtD was based around this idea of a depressed Lana who we heard about in VG and BtD and there are only a few moments on the whole record where we actually see the vision that Lana initially had for it, like the trap-y elements on DMnD. Like with many record labels, I'd say Interscope/Polydor saw the success VG was having and were like 'holy crap! we need to release VG2 and see if it does as well!' When BtD was a success too, they probably told Lana that we needed 12 VGs and BtDs. With a little protest from Lana, songs like DMnD managed to make it onto the record but it was primarily songs that sounded like VG and BTD. Ultraviolence, however, really feels Lana. The songs have more variety and I don't know if that was Lana who managed to make the change or maybe Dan Auberbach and that's why I stan over the UV era more than the BTD/P era. The example I like to use is on the cover arts for both albums: On the cover for BtD, Lana looks stiff as a board an uncomfortable as hell aka the Lana that Lana didn't set out to be. It got her the sales and the recognition she deserved but it wasn't her. The UV cover art shows a more relaxed, animated and comfortable Lana aka the Lana that Lana is pleased to be. The UV Lana isn't as successful but it's the Lana that Lana wanted to be. The Honeymoon cover art shows Lana on a tour bus and I interpret that as Lana riding on the critical success UV Lana got and taking those ideas even more into the Lana that Lana truly wants. She's happy and pleased to be this Lana more than the BtD Lana or the UV Lana. Of course, Lana says that HM is more in the vein of BtD than UV so I might be completely wrong here. I'm not hating on BtD in any way and I completely appreciate people stanning over it more than any other Lana eras but, like @ said, I feel like the stans really want the BtD era back and I don't think it'll ever fully come back. Maybe fragments will, but I feel like that's the most manufactured Lana we've ever seen and I don't think Lana was fully comfortable with being that Lana.
  19. In all seriousness - invincible or unfixable? I'm way off topic here but oh well
  20. Yeah I agree with all of that That is also very true I'm also realising how bitter my previous post sounded. It wasn't supposed to be bitter
  21. What happened to doing a proper lyrics booklet? Surely you can have lyrics and a photoshoot in a booklet instead of just lyric snippets and photos of scenery? That was probably the one thing about the UV physical album that disappointed. The debate about invincible/unfixable in SoC is still going on in some places. A lyrics booklet could have prevented that debate in the first place
