  2. The gag is, the song was never a diss track. The only "diss" about it was the name change from "White Hot Forever" to TJF. The song, at its core, is sweet and vulnerable. Its equivalent to if she renamed How To Disappear to "Fuck You, Joe". I wonder if there are similar motivations for the name changes the new tracks have gone through. If there are, I'm willing to bet money "Psycho Lifegaurd" is one of em
  3. I actually interpreted that one on the same spectrum of the phrase "separation of church and state". Where some people use it so comment on the practice of not mixing work/professional life with love/personal life. Your home is your church. Your safe haven. A place of peace. So she's inviting him to share that space with her.....maybe I'm pulling this out of my ass LFMAO but thats the great thing about her music. You can so easily write 10 page essays on each individual song. So excited to dissect this new album
  4. Good point. It's funny you mention those lines bc as a fellow Christian I will sing my heart out for the entire song, then shut right tf up during those lines LMAO. still love her tho! Plz feel free to Dm me and share your perception. I'm really curious!
  5. TW: Religion I think my only complaint about A&W is the line "God's a charlatan". For someone as seemingly religious as her, isn't it blasphemous to basically say that God is a fraud? Or maybe I'm misinterpreting the line. The "don't look back, babe" reminds me of the story in the Bible of a woman who disobeyed God's instructions to walk away from a city and not look back. While walking away, she turned to look back and was transformed into a pillar of salt. There's something to unpack here...im just not sure what it is. Open to any suggestions
  6. JSUDUDUEUEIDIE the gag is my username was never referring to me, but the men I snag been contemplating changing it to American Bottom for a minute
  7. Crying while I'm cummin tease. I wonder if Peppers will also be stream-during-sex worthy.
  8. Me getting absolutely railed today with A&W playing in the background. it's what the good sis wanted for us
  9. The thing is, she never *fully* "goes back" to anything. So to wish for her to do so is pretty pointless. All you can hope for is for her to incorporate elements from certain albums into her current work, which is exactly what shes doing. Would I love for her to put out a pure uv sequel? Absolutely! Who wouldn't? But it's not realistic. I think we just collectively want to be hopeful for the future and celebrate her evolution, even if it's a departure from what we want. Change is a powerful thing Sorry if you feel silenced, that's not what this community stands for. Let's all have a good time
  10. Haven't seen anyone begging for her to go back to UV style in a hot minute. You know why? Bc Lana managed to incorporate the darkness in sound and lyrics of uv, combined with the vulnerability and melodic genius of her newly obtained sound (nfr, cocc and bb) into this wonderful fusion we now have for an album. And I can't believe I'm saying this, but its all thanks to Jack. We wouldn't be getting any of this had he not helped her craft a new soundscape that is not only a departure from what we're used to, but also vastly on brand for her. We're cooking with grease now. And for all of us who were worried about the quality going forward after the past two eras, she really shut us right tf up "do you really think i give a damn what i do after years of just hearing them talking?" *mic drop* I KNOW THATS RIGHT
  11. Lana vaping in a song is just as iconic as Lil Wayne starting each album with sound of him lighting a blunt. you instantly know you're in for a good time
  12. That "okay" says so much by itself. It gives the same energy as the "fuck it" in DBJAG. I feel about this song how alot of you feel about Venice bitch. Not that VB isnt good, it just never clicked for me in the "masterpiece" kinda way. To me she's just vibing out for 9 minutes, which is cool. But with A&W there's a STORY here. VB is background music vibes (Respectfully. Even lana herself said something like this before you drag me ) whereas A&W is something you have at the forefront. Idk if im making sense here
  13. Imagine if when instead of just *teasing* drums at the second "it doesn't really matter" part, it just erupted into a Venice bitch final chorus x Cruel World type fiasco. Cmon @plastiscguy make us a mix! If anyone can do it, it's you.
  14. I didn't think Lana would top the melody of Cocc title track but A&W really does it tenfold "I say i live in Rosemead, really I live at Ramada. It doesn't really matter, doesn't really really matter" just sends me straight to the moon every time
  15. I didn't like it at first either. But after reading the lyrics, it added a bit of context as to WHY she would mumble the lines. They're confessional and dark. Topics that some might feel too self conscious to talk about. Being 33 years old and still having to sneak around bc guys would rather keep you as a secret than to be seen with you in public. The fact that women sometimes arent believed when they are victims of abuse (especially after the johnny depp trial) That's detrimental to one's mental health, and she's whispering it bc it hurts enough to almost break her. My gosh, I really just wish the utmost happiness and love for her. "When's it gonna be my turn" hits much harder after hearing this track
