Excuse me? No base? I don't need to give numbers I found on wikipedia to have a valid answer. What I said is just that Adele was overplayed and everyone who listens to radio know this. And you contradicted yourself: "song played non stop so maybe they are going for the popularity factor after all is a US award show and she is popular there I guess." That is exactly what happened to Adele ( not talking about music quality/taste so don't go there). And maturity level of the conversation just falls so low when stupid gifs like those are used. Don't even bother answering, I'm tired of having stupid fights with you so I am blocking you ( and I advise you to do the same). " Tolstoy Rihanna works a lot, I mean, an album every year requires a lot of work and that is her problem. If she took her time to really work on an album instead of releasing one every year just to get that top single ( and if she really worked on her stuff, not have people write and produce her songs for her) she would get more respect. I mean, Umbrella was written by The-Dream, Christopher Stewart, Kuk Harrell and Jay-Z and WFL by Calvin Harris, she basically just contributes with her vocals and that is all u_u.

That's what happened with Adele, it was almost impossible to listen to the radio without her songs coming up all the time, she re-defined the term "overplayed".

I am not mad at the Grammys or Adele because Gaga didn't win anything last year, Gaga has 5 so it is already ok, but it is just hard to believe that that event was not bought, seriously? 6 in one night?( let's not mention Michel or Beyonce, etc). Adele deserved like half of those awards, her singles separately but her albums as a whole lacks a lot of things. I do like her music, I even have her album. What I meant with the "buying" thing is that these would push her sales even more ( people from her label are not the only ones that get money). Adele is a very good artist, has a beautiful voicem knows how to write songs but she is way overrated and if you don't accept it you are just delusioning ( all that bandwagon last year was out of control). And please, you should stop writing a book every time you decide to respond to one of my posts, I just skim through it so it is a waste of time.

I don't really like them that much so it doesn't make me want to watch the event. The Grammys just lost my respect, I mean, Adele gets everything ( which was totally bought, I mean, 21 sold more than 700,000 copies after the event, of course they knew that was going to happen if she owned the Grammys). And this year they snubbed Lana, an awesome album that doesn't even get recognition and Rihanna is there u_u. ( it is not even about the sales because Bjork is there ( she's a good artist too though). And also, everything is decided by a bunch of old people, and you can't really sayan artist is better than the other because of a Grammy. Like every other award show, the Grammys are way overrated.

I won't be watching it, last year's already sucked ( they gave everything to Adele, like, wtf) and this here neither Gaga nor Lana are there so no fun.

You mean the Lana bandwagon? The people who don't really like her will forget her soon so don't worry, but it is good that she is popular so she can make more albums. And the people who say " I knew about Lana way before everyone, I hate that she is popular now, etc" are ridiculous. Bandwagons always happen but if your fave has no fans you will be getting little to no music at all. And if you hate things that are popular, you should know that it is popular to hate popular things now.

I am not dishing the others but it is still kind of true. Lots of artists from all around go to the US to get more famous. For example, Adele would have never gotten so famous if she hadn't gotten that much exposure in the States. Asia has a huge market but it is kind of closed. It is way easier for an American/English song to become popular all around the world than songs from other countries. ( this should def change)

You are kidding if you say that South America has a huge music market. We pay more in Brazil because of the taxes and all. I didn't say the other markets were not important but the music market turns around North America.

Hadn't seen this. I guess you didn't get it, every artist has someone that gets people's attention. Adele, a strong,independent woman who sings her heart out and happens to be over-weight ( "See, you don't have to be skinny to be famous"etc,etc), Amy had that crazy haird and all the bad stuff she used to do. Florence is kind of weird we can say that. And I don't even know Tori Amos. But of course if the artist has no talent they will fade away as quickly as they appeared. I never said you didn't like pop so lol. Shit is getting ridiculous so let's just get something across: Every artist does art, even Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj do art, we just don't like it ( idk about u though). People will not like the same thing so just becauyse you cannot feel this "feeling" you are talking about don't go saying nonsense.. It's the same as saying that only the paintings painted by Michelangelo ( or the kind) are art and the ones painted by Tarsilo do Amaral are not. It is different but it is still art. Not wanting to be mean but next to Gaga, Lana is nothing... ( it doesn't make her less of an artistm we are just talking about accomplishments and popularity. Gaga actually produces her songs ( along with producers of course but bitch is really active in the studio) while Lana for example has other people produce her songs ( she helps to but not at the same level). I guess it really depends on someone's taste ( if a song is well made or not, etc. that's your opinion so it's ok)

Who decides what is art tbh? You? Me? Pop music is about having fun and all that, if you want Gaga to really show her talent listen to Speechless, You and I, Future Love, the edge of glory, etc.

We all know that Gaga in not necessarily considered "beautiful" by today's standards, so of course they had to find something to get her attention The crazy outfits is a great marketing strategy ( we can also say that Lana's excessive "sadness" that is portrayed by the media is one too). I just didn't like the last comparison, not even going to say anything about it. Well, almost everything is art, it depends on how we see it and on our tastes. Pop music is often seen as trash and it is almost always been like this, it is ridiculous.
