Definitely a purple record. mermaid motel (nkf version) is definitely evocative of a lot of elusive memories, landscapes, & dreams, i'd love that kind of spiritual energy for ldr9 in any way, & i would agree that mermaid motel (nkf version) is purple... a warm-toned, hazy purple, yet, a lot of other colors too, grandoise, hazy, nostalgic rainbows, can that version of mermaid motel be defined by, or only invoke 1 color? i don't think so, if this album is a purple album it'll definitely have some mystical, surfy elements 4
