Wait what happened? I haven't heard about this

a little while ago chris braide starting uploading unreleased songs by artists he produced for, including beyonce, he uploaded the alt. version of “damn you” but it was taken down/deleted shortly after, i’m not sure about how people got their hands on french restaurant, which was also produced by him, maybe @That Venice Bitch has more details?

ALSO um isn't it entirely possible for someone to simply upload songs under any "name" they choose. It is especially easy to do this with non-verified profiles like Neros. Also, notice the slowed version called "Sweet Serial Killer" on his Spotify page. I don't think this is an automatic confirmation. But at the same time the cover art with her handwriting...

His Spotify profile is actually verified!

Honestly, the only thing that's weird about this is that Lana isn't credited as a featured artist although she is credited as a songwriter (alongside Peter Ibsen himself). But either way, I hope these two songs stay online. Especially Serial Killer feels like such an essential Lana song, it's ridiculous it was never available on streaming platforms.

Lana is still signed with Interscope Records. Both of these songs were released by TIG Records, and there is no indication that Interscope approved of the release. Serial Killer is registered to (at least) APRA AMCOS, ACE, PPL, and HFA. According to BMI, Universal appears to hold the rights to this song. Paradise is registered to (at least) APRA AMCOS, ACE, and PPL. According to PPL, Universal holds the rights to this song also.

It is imperative for Lana to be credited as the sole artist of the songs, not even as a featured artist (which Ibsen didn't even do). She is listed as a writer, but SECOND to Ibsen. He is in for a lot of trouble if Ben/Ed/Interscope/UMG find out about these releases.

WAIT so I just looked again and APPARENTLY Peter Ibsen is the sole rightsholder to both of these songs, at least according to PPL.

someone did a slight remix of yes to heaven, uploaded it with a completely unrelated name, and has over 100k plays on Spotify.

it came on my discover weekly playlist this week, and I was like :usrsney:

also, blackbear was on a song that I really loved that sampled Lana, but last time I heard it, Lana was removed from the song which ruined a bit. she must've came for them.

It’s not about having someone to love me anymore

This is the experience of being an American whore

I think UMG could have grounds to have the songs taken down. Especially cause Lana is more than just a "writer" of the songs, she is THE performer. But if what PPL says is true (that Ibsen is the sole rightsholder to the two songs) then these might end up being ... legit ? :biblio:
