As if suddenly the critics became less misogynistic and so it happened when Lana dropped NFR with Antonoff. Are you seriously talking about best new music spot from Pitchfork or whatever the basement they are operating from? No, I don't think that's crazy, I think that music and art is subjective, and I cannot connect with lots of Lana's newer work, no matter how much well-received they are by the general public, whether it be bland folk pop strategy with Lust for Life or the piano boredom of Blue Banisters, yet I ain't going places and writing hateful comments for no reason. You're just sounding like Azealia Banks at this point and your arguments are invalid, because lots can be said about Marina but she does change her production sound fairly often and instrumentalisation on Hermit the Frog, Froot, Venus Fly Trap is chaotically detailed in the same manner. Well guess why? Because the same woman created them all. And while L+F is disrespected by the fandom, do notice that it was made with random co-writers and co-producers. I do agree her lyrics aren't as polished and interesting as before, but attacks on her "uninspired" and "all the same" production, let alone personal wellbeing is ridiculous. And now she's hired a freaking orchestra, like c'mon. If you don't like HATE her, why don't you say it once, twice and just leave enjoy your life?

Actually PISSING myself rn, I'm going through my old music folder and I've found some remixes I've done of Marina songs, the worst one I've ever done is officially venus fly trap. No vision, just an arpeggiator, a filtered acapella and some reverb

honestly if ADIAML in its entirety sounded like the title track, VFT, and ILYBILMM (especially the title track) it would prob be top 3 of her discography

After sitting with the snippets for a bit, I'll say I'm excited for the album. Hard to speak on the lyrics but sonically I find the production and melodies to be a lot more interesting and catchy than ADIAML and L+F. They kinda remind me of Dua Lipa's stuff but with heavier production. 

 

Aside from the Lazy snippet which I did not care for, Butterfly so far seems like the weakest track on the album and production-wise it sticks out which iirc she said something about it being a different vibe from the rest of the album, so that tracks. Although then I do kinda wonder why include it but maybe it'll make sense in the context of the album.

 

I don't have any particularly strong feelings about Butterfly but I do wish she had pushed the production further, she was clearly going for a kind of euro-pop vibe but I feel like the slower verses and bridge kinda give whiplash and kill the song's momentum.
