DeadAgainst 1,515 Posted October 11, 2014 Outside and Heathen are highly underrated In order of sound quality: Bowie on vinyl > RCA CDs > 40th Anniversary remasters > Rykodisc remasters > 1999 EMI plastic trash
Pluto 1,581 Posted October 11, 2014 Outside and Heathen are highly underrated In order of sound quality: Bowie on vinyl > Bowie RCA CDs > Rykodisc remasters > 1999 EMI plastic trash I agree. The 1999 remasters are terrible. Some of the Ryko ones are good (the gold Rykos sound pretty good to me), and there's a couple good EMI Japan SHM remasters released in 2009, but they could just be the ones from '99.. In my iTunes I have a mix of the Rykos and Japanese, I couldn't find any of the original RCA CD rips anywhere. 1 Quote karma drawn up in lines / baby it's a freebie you sure look deprived

graham4anything 2,859 Posted January 7, 2016 Thanks to Lana, David was inspired to return. Same like last year Kate Bush reappearing after years of being a recluse. Cool. 0 Quote Lana is our modern day Edith Piaf. Totally unique. a mixture of Brian WIlson Roy Orbison, Leonard Cohen, Gram Parsons, Elton & Bernie. Born to Die/Paradise is comparable to Elton's Captain Fantastic. All the records need to be listened whole. Waiting for a box set vinyl of all 400 songs not on any lp
Intriguing Penguin 867 Posted January 8, 2016 I think the video maybe alluding to Bowie's half brother, Terry or Bowie during his cocaine days. Don't want to get to deep into it but just my opinion.

DeadAgainst 1,515 Posted January 8, 2016 Orphic exploration "about a girl" in the psychological sense "The Seer" and "The Liar" are his two new personae (Not Seen and Seen) Stylistically, the album seems to strangely slot itself somewhere between Buddha of Suburbia and Outside
DeadAgainst 1,515 Posted January 9, 2016 Thanks to Lana, David was inspired to return. Same like last year Kate Bush reappearing after years of being a recluse. Cool. "'Tis a Pity She Was a Whore" has the line "Man, she punched me like a dude" "Girl Loves Me" is an extended reference to A Clockwork Orange's Nadsat language http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/clockworkorange/terms.html Another Nadsat word? "Ultra-violence" ...
luckyonewithoutyou 1,929 Posted January 11, 2016 Rest in peace, he released such a strong piece of work shortly before the end of his life. His cultural influence spans across all forms of media. He died yesterday after a 1.5 year battle with cancer.
