I am GUTTED. She was such a phenomenal actress. But I'm comforted by the fact that she was able to live such a full and rich life. May she rest easy.

This is literally the worst day ever, omg... not Maggie Smith, she always seemed so energetic and fun. I love love loved her in Downton Abbey, best granny in any TV series ever. Rest in peace, you legend.

If you've never seen The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie from 1969--it's my all-time favorite film--see it. You won't regret it. Smith won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as the title character.
