I really do believe TTPD is going to be re-evaluated in 3-5 years and seen very differently than it is now (and no I'm not counting the anthology because that is a fucking deluxe edition not a part of the main album or a separate album and I'm tired of people factoring that into how they review the standard album :tiffany2:). It's happened with almost all her albums, and I'd argue TTPD is at least in the top 5 of her discography, if not top 3. I think people will be able to appreciate the unhinged-ness and more inaccessible lyrics and melodies once the over-saturation of Taylor has died down a bit. The way reviews ranged from calling it boring watered-down pop that all sounds the same to an incoherent weird mess, show me people were not giving it a fair chance when it came out. I don't think it was an album that was written to be a hit, and I think what she said about it being an album she needed to write was so true and it really comes across throughout the record, and I feel like this record is the most "real" Taylor has ever been. It's such an interesting glimpse into her psyche and shows that she isn't scared to show herself in a really unflattering way. I hate that it's been overlooked due to the overall tiredness around Taylor herself and I think if it had been released before Midnights people would have loved it.

Clock it

I agree. personally, only 6 months later and I like and listen to a lot of the songs I initially didn't really care for

Will forever be bitter she didnt just do Tortured Poets as a single album with these tracks as a 2am edition

1. The Black Dog
2. The Albatross
3. The Bolter
4. The Prophecy (with more umphed up drums)
5. The Manuscript

I wouldn't scrap the anthology just wait till fall or the winter and replace these songs (and thank u amiee) with new songs.

THIS!! Every time I see someone post hate for TTPD, they almost always say “it could’ve been a 10/10 if it weren’t for the anthology.” It reminds me of BTD and Paradise- they’re two separate albums and deserve to be treated as such. I think the biggest reason why many people aren’t big fans of TTPD is because of the anthology which is separate from the standard album as you said x

Facts. Also thinking about it more, The Anthology should've just been an EP released on September 13th.

1. imgonnagetyouback
2. Chloe Or Sam Or Sophia Or Marcus
3. How Did It End?
4. I Hate It Here (reworked: similar to live version and with a better bridge)
5. So High School (reworked: more proper structure and live version key and pitch)
6. Cassandra
7. New Song
8. I Look In People's Windows
