Neon Palmmm Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 I have a lot of trouble listening to LFL as an album, so I split it into two, shorter EPs, based partially on the Recording Chronology thread. It's not a radical idea, and the tracks are still in their running order from the album, but it has improved the album so much for me -- everything feels in-context: LOST FOR LIFE 1. Love 2. 13 Beaches 3. God Bless America 4. When the World Was at War 5. Beautiful People Beautiful Problems 6. Tomorrow Never Came 7. Heroin 8. Get Free LUST FOR LIFE 1. Lust for Life 2. Cherry 3. White Mustang 4. Summer Bummer 5. Groupie Love 6. In My Feelings 7. Coachella 8. Change 3 Quote
godsmonster Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 I'm gonna get dragged for my L4L tracklist BUT Lust for Life 1. 13 Beaches 2. Love 3. Lust for Life (ft. The Weeknd) 4. Cherry 5. Summer Bummer (ft. A$AP Rocky & Playboi Carti) 6. Serene Queen 7. Groupie Love (ft. The Weeknd) 8. Roses Bloom For You (Interlude) 9. God Bless America - And All The Beautiful Women In It 10. In My Feelings 11. Best American Record 12. Tomorrow Never Came (ft. SEAN ONO LENNON) 13. Beautiful People Beautiful Problems (ft. Stevie Nicks) 14. Coachella - Woodstock In My Mind 15. Change 16. Get Free Norman Fucking Rockwell! the only difference would be remove TNBAR and replace it with Looking for America 1 Quote

13bitches Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 Still haven't done LFL yetOh queso I think I have a rearrangement idea for LFL: Young and in Love Lust for Life (Early Version that leaked in January) Serene Queen So Good (with the bridge from Summer Bummer) Cherry 13 Beaches The Next Best American Record (2016/17 version) Tomorrow Never Came Heroin Change Get Free 0 Quote If by not 'up to par' you mean distilling the worst elements that only kind of work in songs, sure. I could put a dictionary audiobook on shuffle and put it to an instrumental of old money and some of y'all would still be saying it's 50/50 lmfao.
Chocolate Eyes Posted May 11, 2020 Posted May 11, 2020 also i dont like how 'hope' is the closer maybe Happiness? Same. I would put Hope somewhere around 9-13 and leave Happiness as the last song. 1 Quote ?️
expandableclitoris Posted May 11, 2020 Posted May 11, 2020 Same. I would put Hope somewhere around 9-13 and leave Happiness as the last song. weirdly my opinion has changed lol im so random 1 Quote
palemoonbaby Posted June 7, 2021 Posted June 7, 2021 I'm going to revive this thread LUST FOR LIFE 1. Love 2. Lust for Life feat. The Weeknd 3. Serene Queen 4. White Mustang (song longer, i’d add some electro background, strings and trip-hop & hip-hop influences too) 5. Cherry (i’d make song longer adding hidden lyrics) 6. Coachella (i’d add some strings) 7. In My Feelings 8. Interlude (ambient spacey instrumental) 9. Yosemite 10. Best American Record (demo) 11. 13 Beaches (add heavier strings) 12. Beautiful People (demo) 13. Heroin 14. Get Free Album will be storyline. I would changed some lyrics to match everything to plot. From crazy love and breaking up to rage, insanity and founding peace. Love and Lust For Life are the songs where Lana feels happy. She and her boyfriend are happy being free, enjoying your youth, being crazy in love and feeling alive. But these are only appearances (she didn’t know about that, she’s deeply in love in that man). In Serene Quen she sings that she’s water and her boyfriend are fire and she thinks she calms him down. He’s aggressive, quick-tempered and nervous. Lana is blinded by love and stucked in toxic relationship. White Mustang and Cherry are the moments when she realises that he’ll never change and that relation isn’t healthy. She stopped thinking about herself to care about her man. She decided to quit from him. In Coachella (I would change lyrics to match everything to storyline: Maybe i’m crazy, maybe i’m fucked up, but don't tell me I'm schizophrenic, cause I saw you kiss her coral lips ) and In My Feelings she confess that he cheated her and was treated her really bad. She’s angry that she was so naive. I put Interlude cause transition from IMF to Yosemite would be strange. In Yosemite and Best American Record she’s torn between forgetting about him and back to him. In Yosemite we have „Everything will be fine, it’s only temporary crisis. We’ll come back to each other and we’ll be couple again. True love can handle everything”attitude. While BAR has „I loved him, but I don’t want back to him. He hurt me and he was toxic. He only thinks about himself and only his benefits” attitude. 13 Beaches is about that she run away from public eye and she can’t find place where she can gain strenght, she can be alone and rest. Beautiful People she revealed that she thinks about thinks about taking her own life. Lana can’t stand that everyone around her are happy (I’m fucking tired of these all beautiful people with beautiful life/I want to die and maybe I should fucking try). In Heroin Lana realises that her past is killing her like eponymous heroin and she must go forward. Get Free is the moment where Lana is born again and comes alives. She’s totally brand new person and she has lust for life. Lana is happy for being free again and ready for starting new life (Out of the black into the blue). Singles 1.Love 2.Lust For Life Promo: Coachella 3.BAR 4.Serene Queen 5.Cherry (Some songs would have changing lyrics to match them to story). 1 Quote
Crazy Husband Thief Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 Oh I love doing these! I always try to keep the original song selection intact, though. When re-arranging Lana's albums I usually try to focus on the following aspects: Opening and closing track work as book ends Coherent storyline Sonically cohesive transitions and "chapters" BORN TO DIE Born to Die Blue Jeans Diet Mountain Dew This Is What Makes Us Girls Carmen Lolita Off to the Races Million Dollar Man National Anthem Summertime Sadness Radio Without You Dark Paradise Video Games Lucky Ones PARADISE Ride American Cola Burning Desire Body Electric Gods & Monsters Yayo Bel Air Blue Velvet ULTRAVIOLENCE Cruel World Ultraviolence Shades of Cool Brooklyn Baby Florida Kilos West Coast Guns & Roses Money Power Glory Fucked My Way Up to the Top Sad Girl The Other Woman Old Money Black Beauty Is This Happiness Pretty When You Cry Flipside HONEYMOON (Unmixed) Honeymoon Freak Art Deco High By the Beach Music to Watch Boys to Terrence Loves You God Knows I Tried Burnt Norton - Interlude Religion Salvatore 24 The Blackest Day Swan Song Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood LUST FOR LIFE 13 Beaches Cherry White Mustang Summer Bummer (feat. shadesofloveduthenandnow Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 So after seeing the alleged rough tracklist for COCC I decided to fill in the blanks- Chemtrails Over the Country Club Let Me Love You Like a Woman Dark But Just a Game Dealer Tulsa Jesus Freak White Dress Dance Till We Die (will prob be swapped out if we get any outtakes) Looking for America Yosemite Wild at Heart For Free (also subject to being swapped if we get any outtakes) I know it was a stand-alone charity single but I really feel like LFA would fit well on here tbh. Its minimalist arrangement and reflective/pensive lyrics put it right at home on here for me the way I’d also put Dealer and Yosemite on LFL lmao 1 Quote
