LanaMelMey 11 Posted November 19, 2015 I heard John saying "Now write to your mama" before the Body Electric starts but I don't know who is that "mama" and the meaning of "write". At least I think, mama is Marry but also I think this is not Marry so is there anyone who knows who is that mama?
futuretro 197 Posted November 19, 2015 John lays out basic tenants in the beginning, "write to your mama" is just a general reference for things a good person does. Not Mary or anyone specific
BlueJeans 2,608 Posted November 19, 2015 The way I understood it, his advices are what boy scouts are given. So there's this unexpected parralllel between an American Icon explaining what can/can't be done and God setting the rules for the Garden of Eden.

longtimeman 9,001 Posted November 20, 2015 Yeah, it's just a generic 'be good' message given to kids, to not forget their mothers when they leave home and go off into the big bad world (or fall out of paradise and end up working in a convenience store)
