Unchained Melody is one of her best covers ever. It's so strikingly beautiful. But actually, let's save it for the covers album, too.

I’m curious to see how she will do southern gothic with “lighter lyricism.” Inherent in southern gothic are themes of generational trauma, decay, alienation, etc. I’m not sure that blends with lighter lyricism.

Well, when she mentioned "southern gothic" she was talking about the production of the album, not the lyrics.

My personal theory is the album shifted after the Grammys this year. She recorded Tough soon after and we know from an insider it was being considered as a possible last minute addition to the album. I’m excited to hear from insiders about the writing timeline 10 years from now.
