I haven’t listened to the leak fully but I actually preferred the crazy violin edit-i don’t hear the over edited vocals though-it’s common to splice vocals so it’s not that big of a deal to me. This song just sounds a bit messy but is this even the final?

Depends who we’re ranking-with Lana I’d be on the fence if we’re talking AKA. Regarding debuts in 2013- Id place it Charli, Lorde then Sky But Ghost is miles better than the Love Club ep

I love hip hop beats which is why portishead are one of my favourite bands but listen to the strings in the title track-they just sound fake and none of the beats hit right. i don’t think I’m the only one who feels like this either- I wish she would remake it and just alter these details-cutting out some of the background Rick James screams and putting some harder beats and real strings on would make the album 100% better. I think she kind of made her BTD with honeymoon though I guess.

I love Lana but Born to Die aged like milk, everything is great about it except the production-the drums sound really fake and the production is tinny overall. Its still an album I can appreciate especially because I loved it at the time but Aka was the better debut in retrospect. Blue Jeans and video games are outliers to this weirdly with strong producing. I never liked Solar power so won’t comment

But the style had been done before- The cure was making music like this in the 80s both the pop and punk parts. You could argue perspective given that she’s a woman doing the sound but even still. Pure Heroine atleast came with the Lana wave and gave a more realistic perspective on teen issues whilst being inspired.

I like the album but the ghost EP was much better- NTMT has highlights like title track, not the one etc but it’s also not really that unique or lyrically great. I’ve seen it be compared to TR and Pure heroine before but I honestly think True Romance decimates both quality wise.

This is a good lesson for those who may be reading this forum though and start a career-always read the fine print of a contract and have a solicitor present, sign a distribution instead of a label contract if you can and keep at deadlines!

Otherwise music wise unfortunately it’s over.
