  1. I think people being tired of Taylor is definitely a part of it, but there are plenty of valid reasons to dislike the music as well. I do like a lot of the album but overall find it underwhelming. 6-7 is not unreasonable at all. 1/10 on the other hand is obviously silly.

  2. omg I just finished watching, what a show!!! A little shaky at first but her confidence grew quickly and then her vocals were just out of this world and she really felt like she was in her element.

Candy Necklace was absolutely one of the greatest things to ever happen on a Coachella stage. My jaw was dropped, I was gasping for air. If anyone dares to say Lana can't sing or doesn't have stage presence, that should be mandatory viewing. What a stunning, mysterious, sexy performance. An absolute highlight of her career right there, and then to go right into a heartbreaking and creative performance of Hope with that moving monologue to end it...wow just wow.

Imagine complaining that Lana doesn't perform her bops when she's serving art like that??

The only low part was Camila's hilarious random interlude, but I'm choosing to view it as social commentary. People demand high energy performances and say because it's Coachella it's what she has to do, so she gave us the most chaotic (and bad) version of high energy to shut people up before returning to her ballads and absolutely slaying the rest of the performance.

I agree with the second part but I just feel like I’m listening to a different album than everyone because it sounds so different from the rest of her discography to me😭

For me it sounds very much like exactly what I would expect from her. Maybe not like one specific album but the sound doesn't contain any surprises for me. Not that it has to, but I'm not surprised why people would be tiring of it if they're not super invested in her music.

  4. I think the hate for the album comes from it being too predictable and too long. A lot of people are sick of Taylor at this point and this album, while good, doesn't bring anything new to the table to the average listener. And then of course because people love to hate on her, they take that to the extreme unfortunately.

  5. Part 2 didn't do much for me tbh, the album was already bordering on too long and I felt the anthology section really dragged. I was getting antsy for it to end :icant: Will try and listen to that group of songs on their own over the weekend to see if they land better.

I've listened to the main album 4 times now and feel pretty much the same as the first listen. It's good with some great moments and I like most of it, but definitely a bit repetitive and nothing new for her.

She obviously knows what she's doing from a commercial standpoint and her fans seem happy so that's good, but if she wants to grow her reputation beyond her fanbase it's time for a break and some new inspiration.

I kind of don’t need her to announce anything for this right now because it’s just going to be overshadowed by Taylor at the moment, especially if she brings her out at Coachella tonight

She doesn't love the attention so maybe it's the perfect time to announce :agree:

I just need to know if this album is finished now or if she still is working on it:trisha:

This is the update we need from an insider. If she's still working on it, then we can hang up our cowboy hats for the meantime and wait patiently, but if it's done then we whip out the lassos and get ready to party :dance4:

  8. Spoiler

I enjoyed the album, and I'm sure it'll grow on me, but it is very much the Taylor formula. Some highlights and great moments for sure and none of the songs were bad, but it all sounds predictable. I'm not saying she has to reinvent her sound with each record. I like Taylor and I don't mind when an artist hones in on a sound, but I still think it could sound a little fresher.

Not to bring it back to Lana (though this is LanaBoards) but she really is a perfect example of an artist with a signature sound that manages to constantly surprise without needing to reinvent herself. It's funny that people compare them so much but I think they are extremely different as artists, almost opposites. Taylor follows a structure, and Lana follows the flow.
