Honestly, a lot of my friends are saying the same - that Lana should take some time off. The consensus seems to be that she's churning out a lot of songs, a lot of which aren't very good. Country Road is just one of many. Another one is that Blue Skies cover, which is equally awful. There's the collabs with some anonymous people, mid Antonoff project collabs, etc.

That is literally not the consensus lmao

Not gonna lie though I hope she doesn't do any more major festivals in future if she's either not gonna put any effort into the vocals, do the same performances of songs like Pretty When You Cry and Cherry or show up late. I still cba watching the performances for the songs she's done a million times, I've heard clips though and every vocal I've heard has been unnotable. The highlight of the show was 10 seconds of pole dancing really. What's the point really?

You have to remember a live show isn't put together for the people who watch every single performance through cell phone footage at home. Most people only see the one show that they attend in person so it's overall not really an issue that the setlist doesn't change for most people.

Also the show was a lot better than you're giving it credit for from just watching a few clips. There were mic issues throughout that you could tell were rightfully bugging her, but she sounded gorgeous and there were a lot of great moments throughout the whole show. She didn't come off as lazy. A little defeated yes, but graceful and ethereal.

  3. I just watched for a second time and it honestly is a gorgeous performance. The sound issues were unacceptable and you could tell that it got to her throughout the show, but despite that she really did a beautiful job.

Can't believe some of you think Candy Necklace should be cut, it was the clear highlight for me. Stunning performance from both Lana and Jon and they way they riffed with one another was incredible, not to mention the pole dancing moment.

Also obsessed with the spooky jazz exit. The whole show had this slightly ghostly vibe, like Lana's this old starlet reflecting on her life from her dilapidated mansion beyond the grave.

Really hoping the sound is perfect next week and she's feeling more comfortable now that she's done it once. Would love a surprise Lasso debut obviously as the cherry on top, but overall I think the show is really well conceived.

  4. I don't have an issue with the setlist. Her team made a mistake of overhyping the show as something really different when it wasn't, but other than that I think it's a beautiful setlist and the show last night had all the right things in place to be one of her best.

I really think the sound issues are to blame for the show feeling underwhelming at times. The mic being bad I think really got her in her head and she wasn't able to deliver the vocals she's capable of. You could see visibly on her face throughout the show that it was upsetting her which made it hard for her to let loose and get fully comfortable on the stage. It's really frustrating because her vocals really did seem amazing, they just weren't coming through properly and then she was holding herself back as a result.

Coachella better get their shit together for next weekend because issues like that are really unacceptable for a show of this scale.

  5. I'm trying not to overhype myself but it really is difficult LOL. I think we're in for something special. Her and her team seem really excited, and the fact that this isn't a tour show but more of a one-off in the desert means they can do something a little more extravagant that doesn't need to be adapted for travel.

She must be nervous but I just know she's gonna kill it :trisha:

  6. Omg I had the best dream ever, she literally live debuted all of Lasso from start to finish. I don't remember much except it was very guitar heavy and there was one song where she stuck her head through this weird box and screamed her lungs out LOL. There was also a song called "What's the World To Do" and it was stunnnning, it reminded me of Right Back To It by Waxahatchee and was about how music is the only thing that can maybe save the world.

Then she said she had 2 songs left and the next song was a 9 minute song called "Sitges" but I woke up right as it started.
