  1. I found your review very sound indeed! I personally rate Body Electric lower than Gods and Monsters :P I had very mixed feelings about the reverb on Yayo. It automatically felt like a "palm-face", botched kind of effort, but I can't deny that it adds to the haunting vibe of the song. And I have to say that, while its such an insignificant detail, the whisper-repeating of each line in the pre-choruses of Ride really bothered me, I felt that it was overdone, clichéd maybe? Did you ever review National Anthem? I would love to hear your take on that.

I'm literally In love with that whisper repeating. It slays me over and over again :uh:

  2. I could do about 100 but I'll keep it quick for the sake of my fingers.

    SIRENS

Aviation - This song never stood out to me until I genuinely listened to the lyrics. It's rare in Lana's discography to find a song completely unrelated to relationships, so that makes this song special. And the connection of wanting to leave your past behind and pursue something foreign definitely resonates with me.

Westbound - I think this song is stunning because it is sort of the beginnings of what would become Blue Jeans and Born to Die. The lyrics are a bit messy, but the melody and her voice make up for it.

    LDRAKALG

I'd like to preface that every song on this album is absolutely stunning. As a body of work, it is probably my favorite thing she has ever done.

Pawn Shop Blues - I don't think a song has ever made me cry on the first listen except this one. It's raw, emotional, honest, and relatable. It is the perfect blend of the acoustic side of May and the production quality of the rest of the album, which gives it a sparkle but keeps the original haunting and empty quality of Sirens.

Queen of the Gas Station - I'd be tempted to say I prefer the original acoustic demo over any other version, but all are fantastic. As a whole album, I think this song sums up the theme she intended well. It is another story song, and the vivid images she paints with her lyrics really bring it over the top.

    BORN TO DIE

National Anthem - Wow. That's the word I'll always use to describe this one. It makes me feel like going out on a boat on the 4th of July with a hot guy and setting off fireworks. Production-wise, it's her best piece.

Without You - Out of all the low-production pieces, this one is the one that blows me away the most. The vulnerability in her voice literally personifies a fragile china doll and she stirs emotion inside me with every listen.

    PARADISE

Ride - Her best writing ever, besides Pawn Shop Blues. She managed to sum up her entire life and career in less than five minutes. The video tops off the whole piece in an amazing way that I'm still not even over.

    UNRELEASED

I tend to love her unreleased stuff the most for some reason. With that being said, I tried to cut down on how many I listed.

You're Gonna Love Me/Fordham Road - I classify these together because of their time periods. I adore the Lizzy + guitar sound so much, and the vulnerability and raw candor in these always stuns me.

Heavy Hitter - I think this song gets often overlooked when it comes to Lana's music. The embodiment of the story is simple yet straightforward, and whilst I prefer the original production, it still slays me every time it comes on.

Children of the Bad Revolution - This one speaks for itself. She basically took a propaganda poster and turned it into an anthem. Untouchable.

Marilyn Monroe/Take Me to Paris - I group these because the schoolgirl fluff and the pin-up girl voice echoes in both of them so well. Lyrically and production-wise, these really ought to have been on some release because of how unbelievably catchy and cute they are.

I Don't Wanna Go - I'd say the sole reason this song catches a spot on my list is the harmonies in the end chorus. They alone take the cake as far as backing vocals in any Lana song go. Plus the audible breathing into the mic makes it that much more special and real.

I love Heavy Hitter a lot too...It was the first Unreleased Lana Song I found way back, and probably heard it like 200 times. I just love the "Let's change our DNA" parts and how she sings "You're so cool". Makes me feel like I'm lounging by the pool myself.

  3. Before screaming out. You have to know it's not Lana's label ( Interscope / Polydor ) who released CD's in Germany but an other label called Vertigo. So the release of the song is probably their idea, not from Lana

Most of the artists ( now ) don't decide of the songs chosen as singles .... it doesn't include Rihanna, Britney, Gaga, ........

Actually, the singles for Gaga are chosen by her label...that is why the BTW era as it was, was only the shadow of what it could have been if she released Scheißbe....

  4. Okay so Harlem Shake is literally 30 seconds of music repeated six times. I should have a glass of water right now.

I realized that i once tried to listen to Call Me Maybe and i turned it off after the first chorus, which is rare for me because i almost always make it a point to sit through everything no matter how much i can't tolerate it. I got through it this time. This sounds like music that would be in an Old Navy commercial for pants or, like, an edgy shampoo commercial. What is going on? I wonder if the producer(s) told her to smile while singing. What is she doing?

I am contributing to Vevo views like a good consumer. Now on to Baby by Justin Bieber. He looks like a hot lesbian. Am i supposed to think this? God, his pronunciation and inflection is gross, ugh. Is this kid going to hate his life in a few years? Why are they at a bowling alley? Why is Ludacris there? What am i doing? I don't have anything to say about this song, it feels like i'm staring at a white wall and someone is asking me to describe it. I think i'd rather listen to this than Call Me Maybe. Man, that fade is smooooth. Oh, he got the girl at the end and he did a cool handshake with Luda. Alright Biebz.

No one is reading this, i'm about to start confessing some dark, vile secrets.

Okay, on to Kiss You by One Direction (it's the first song that comes up when you start typing One Direction on youtube so i went with that one). I surprised you, didn't i? Pulled this one out of left field. I wasn't prepared for this. This sounds like an SNL sketch. Fuck, this one is easily the worst of the night. This is suicide. What if this was the only song you could listen to for the rest of your life? Wait, why is the song quoting 99 Luftballoons? I have to admit that i'm laughing a lot listening to/watching this. Why is this SO LOUD? And why do they have to sing LIKE THAT, ugh. Imagine one of these doofuses kissing you. There is no way that i will ever listen to this piece of shit again.

I'm sorry for wasting everyone's time. What was the point of this thread again?

I actually rather enjoyed reading this. :mariah:

Don't you want to write about Scream and Shout too? :tyvm:

  5. In Body Electric, how she sings: "We got crazy every friday night" just touches me always.

And also, where she sings: "Mary's swayin’ softly, to her heart's delight."

And how she yells delight is my top Lana moment ever, like in everything  she ever created, that 2 seconds just slays me so damn hard. Too beautiful. :crying:

  6. I swear, if I hear the melody to that ONE song one more time I'mma hit someone  :oprah2:  :drag:

Anyway. I'm so proud of our queen  :thankyou:

It's so weird that song is so popular. I never actually heard anyone praise it, everyone is just bashing it.

Or maybe the people who listen to it are ashamed of it and just secretly listen to it... :shh:

  7. So great! The best song from BTD, and her best video.

    Totally deserved

you know what is weird? Video Games was the viral song but BTD is the one with more views. I think is a good thing since means people ket looking for Lana's songs but I thought VG was her biggest hit

    You know what is weird?

They removed the video from her personal channel, even though that is where she was discovered. :icant:

  8. Its not really about lana, so to say but:

When ever playing dangerous comes on I imagine me and my teacher making out really violently up against a wall, and then i change the "Do you have a girl? I dont see a ring on your finger." To "Do you have a boy? I dont see a ring on your finger."

I make up an entire music video in my head...I usually replay the song, so i can replay the "video".

    its so hawt.<3 :shh:

    :hawt: :hawt: :hawt:

    What does he teach? :flutter:

  9. Yeah i feel like a lot more people would fall in love with American than Burning Desire. I mean, personally I love Burning Desire and i think it's great that its going to be a single.

But then again maybe Lana doesnt care for getting anymore fans than she has idk..

Could be...she always says she is so happy all the time. If she was a little more ambitious the game would be even more interesting, although we got plenty of videos already :)

Maybe because it is getting promo from Jaguar? :uh:

    Where exactly?

Like, in the commercial we only hear her "breathing" part, that isn't so much.
