  1. I don't understand why people are annoyed at Lana for promoting her brother's and sister's work. Maybe Lana sees something special even if we think they're mediocre. If I had a platform and genuinely felt like my siblings had something to give to the world I'll promote them as much as Lana promotes her siblings.

ok i know its a hot topic on here but im like so glad she has For Free on the tracklist. I feel like what really sets Lana apart from all the other popgirls and alt girls in the game rn is like they are all having their moments and stuff and some of the greats in the music industry might say something nice about them in an interview, but Lana actually knows the greats  music (joni, bruce, bob etc) very well and takes direct inspiration from them fused with her own pure talent. Like i really don't think Billie Eyelash ever listens to Nina Simone, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan or anyone like that, but Lana does and it shows. And shes praised by those same greats like Springsteen. And she has an impressive collab list, Sean Ono Lenon(yuck but impressive name), Stevie Nicks, as well as a covers list, Nina, Joni, etc. Lana is just so far ahead of her peers

I won't compare Billie to Lana since Billie is much younger and has years and years of developing in front of her. But the way Lana uses her references separates her from everyone else. NFR is a prime example since it's built on them. Lana's world as a whole is built from a reference on top of a reference. It does show her "level of knowledge" of those artists or even places. What I dislike is when people say "Well isn't she a songwriter? Why can't she express herself better on social media and interviews?". They are not connected in any way and many don't seem to understand that.

  3. This was quite an interesting read. Makes me kinda nervous for the album since she is so unsure of it. I am so intrigued by White Dress and Dark But Just a Game. The part where she calls WD's chorus stupid made me giggle. I wonder what happened at that party with Jack. The photos are breathtaking. Weird but beautiful. The photo with the hoodie in particular is immaculate:pray2:

  4. I actually understood everything she meant. And I kinda agree with Lizzy. She is not dismissing the problem of capitalism but is more so pointing it's root. Narcissism is where it all starts. And the madness of Trump has exposed so many people and their true intentions through out this year and through out his presidency. I liked her commentary on that. She even agreed that her behaviour can be quite impulsive and reactive. I don't know why people find it "problematic". It's just the fact that she jumps from one topic to another that is super confusing.

I have some difficulty in separating art from the artist. So, for me, it's extremely sad to see her act that way because it ends up being a slow loss. ?

I have followed her career since 2012/2013, I know about the many shits she went through, I recognize the injustices that were directed at her, in relation to her work and herself as a woman. I understand her frustration and hurt. But I think most of us agree that this is not the best way for her to deal with it. She expresses herself poorly and fails to maintain an adequate dialogue with people, does not accept to be questioned. It seems that she learned nothing from everything that happened last year. And I wonder what made her rebel in this deaf way.

I thought I didn't have this problem until today. Her comment really rubbed me in the worst way possible. QftC didn't have a big impact on me cause it seemed more of a bad wording but here the issue is even bigger. How hasn't anyone told her how dumb she can sound? And I don't get it, how can a person that writes such beautiful songs and poems be so bad at expressing themselves with simple sentences???? Hope the comments that criticize her finally get in to her head. Or at least someone from Lizzy's friends that is brave enough to explain to her why people think of her as a racist.

girl really thought she would hop on lana hate train, get a 80k like hit tweet and promote herself. Oops

I kinda hate "artists" that act in such manner. She tries to promote herself through lying about Lana cropping the watermark. On top of that she continues her rant and acting entitled by saying "being tagged is not enough". Then she plays the victim. I get that she may be a struggling artist but the way she acts is very off putting.

i don't get it when people say it upsets them when other people say NFR is lana's best like it's just personal taste  :toofunny:

it's hard for me to say which album is my favorite cause i like them all for different reasons but personally i relate to NFR the most as the lyrics are so raw and i guess the most realistic in a way? most lana songs from BTD-HM paint this dramatic picture of a relationship straight out of like a godfather movie, which i love her storytelling and the cinematic feeling of those songs but it can sometimes be so over the top and dramatic that you can't even feel comforted by it

It's the same reason why I love Lana's work during the May Jailer era. The production maybe simple and the instrumentals repetitive but I love the writing on it and it's rawness. It's simple yet beautiful and interesting. The melodies really help as well. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but it's a good way to delve in Lana's world before "fame".

Anyways, tbh we all have the right to have an opinion and voice it out. From all the stuff you said, big ego/superiority I mean it's your take on the interview so yeah.

But what I really dislike is when you say stuff like she's arrogant when she talks about her family. We don't know the background and do you love every member of yours? 'Cause personally I hate most of mine so in a way, without knowing what went through with her, I really get her. Especially that part where she says some of them are the reason for her panic attacks/anxiety and she's right for being "arrogant" when talking about them.

Yeah that part resonated with me as well. I think many of us have siblings or friends like that who can be hurtful to our mental health without realizing it . So kudos to Lana for telling them.

  9. «Del Rey’s mistake is forgetting that part of being a poet is to tell us about the world, not just focus on herself.»

Someone shall explain the guardians writer that poets also have many personal poems about themselves and their love life. I’m Greek, and many Ancient Greek poets and writers rather than their famous work about life and etc, they do have written things about their love life and daily life. Thanks. Bye.

Has this person ever been in literature class??? I don't know where they got that idea that a poet should write about the world. Like she hasn't done that before in her music. Who ever wrote that review should find better arguments. It just seems like a joke and they just totally misunderstood the project. They can dislike it but at least try to write something that actually makes sense or go more in depth.

  10. Well totally hated it at first listen but I am quite enjoying it now. It's fun and dancy. Do I think it's something groundbreaking? No but it's fun and perfect for the summer. I could see it playing on the radio for sure.

  11. Thank God she replied. Can the social justice warriors stop now coming at her???(Racism is a very serious matter and we should fight it but we should not focus energy on things that are not there like the post) We knew all along that she did not mention them out of thin air. God i hope she is doing ok cause the shitstorm was crazy. Her addressing the Karen comments has me dying.

  12. I was doing some thinking and it might far fetched but I believe that LFL(demo) and BP(demo) explain this statement in a better way. "I'm like a wild caged animal.../... trying to avoid danger" - her creativity is limited and tries to avoid going too "controversial" and "provocative" so she can escape the backlash. "It's funny how some things just change in a day..." - all of a sudden the more controversial and provocative themes find their place within the general public after being just a taboo.

Beautiful People's chorus is pretty self explanatory. It's maybe just me trying too much to analyze her statement instead of focusing on analyzing classic literature for my exams.
