  1. yeah lana loves her high budget videos but about half of her videos were homemade with her iphone, her sister does most of her shoots now, she records with the same producers (which are her friends), she doesnt perform on tv, she doesnt do interviews with popular magazines, etc.

shes practically indie, she just needs to switch to a different label

Even better - she should start her own label.

  2. Exactly this.

I'm not against indie artists or labels, I just don't think Lana does anything to promote her career and that she'd fall flat on her face doing any of the shit she does(n't do) if she were given an indie label-level budget.

Fair enough but I think an indie label would get her more promo than what Interscope are doing.

  3. her fans leak her music and by that damage her charts performance and decrease her streaming numbers.

why do you keep going back to btd when it's not even part of the conversation? i think lana just wrote a song about being young and in love, so i doubt she considers herself old.

lana will invest in her music videos just like she did with ultraviolence and honeymoon.

her networth is not on the level of beyonce to put endless amount of money into something that as an investment is not being brought back.

True, I suppose leaks do damage her charts performance but I still think she's doing well for now.

I'm not saying Lana is old, just more mature.

I mostly meant she could easily invest in producers of she were to go independent, not just MV.

  4. my music taste is ON POINT, sweetheart. go listen to peacock and bow down!

anyways, lana going indie would be the worst case scenario for an artist like lana del rey. she gives zero fucks into actually making her album release and anything beyond it remotely intersting and indie labels can not push an album or give it a bigger budget. her quality in terms of recordings would also suffer. but i guess, y'all want sirens 2 so badly, so that you don't need the xanax prescription any longer

I'm very satisfied with my music taste, thank you.

Tbh I trust Lana to do well making an album that's mostly on her terms. I think she's over the whole BTD sound. The woman is in her 30's, of course she's gonna go for a more mature sound. Interscope wants to keep her young but it's not working. She has lots of money so I'm confident if she were to go independent she would invest wisely. Plus she already has thousands of fans who will listen to it, it's not like she'd be starting from scratch.

  5. how millions. I just guessed around 20k considering highering a producer, photographer, in lana's cause symphony..

It all adds up in the end like paying for producers, mixers, engineering, booking recording dates, recording space, distribution, photographers, writers, arrangements, etc. Pretty pricey stuff

  6. I love Tim Buckley aswell!! Particularly the Goodbye and Hello album. The vocals in 'I Never Asked to be Your Mountain' really remind me of Grace

That album is gold. I'm glad you like it! Mountain is so gorgeous, also very personal. :krylie:

My other fave album is Greetings from L.A. Have you heard that one?

  7. Ooh I haven't heard this, thanks for the link!!

I'll have to listen to this at night when I can just close me eyes and focus on his voice...

I call it a hidden treasure. I've tried looking for every single Jeff Buckley song/interview in existence yet this was very well hidden lol

  8. I know that how someone acts is no way to judge how they're truly feeling, but I just came to think that Jeff seemed way too happy to die like that. It's just such a shame the way he died

Have you heard Tim Buckley's music? I adore it so much, you can really tell how Jeff and Tim sound alike.

This is my all time favorite

  9. So Real and Forget Her and Lover You Should've Come Over are my absolute favourites I think, it's hard to choose, but those three are always on the top of list when I think about his music! I adore his voice so much, there's so much raw emotion his voice just takes me away to some other place entirely!  :flutter:

I totally get what you mean, even his speaking voice is hypnotising. Have you heard this?

He's reading one of Edgar Allan Poe's poem, he even made the background music. It's so good and often helps me fall asleep. :)

  10. I thought it was suicide for a long time, but I recently came to realise that, like you said, it seems he knew his time was coming. Really sad

You'll be surprised, though. A lot of people still believe it was suicide (he swam in the river many times before, knowing the dangers of it). But i think it was an accident. Jeff was always spontaneous, maybe just a bit too much. :(

  11. The amount of lyrics pertaining to water and death are almost too much to be coincidental. I think Grace is the strangest one, half the song could be a prediction of his death

Indeed. I think Jeff knew when his time was coming. Weeks before his death, he called old friends who he hadn't spoken to in years... :(

  12. Love love love this song, the way he whispers/speaks when he says "I love you" is so beautiful :flutter:

I know it doesn't regard water, but I always find the line "sucked me in and pulled me under" a bit eerie considering how he died

The 'I love you' is probably the best highlight of the whole song, even better when he whispers it during live performances. :brows:

Yes! Those lyrics depress me so much because it's like he's predicting his own death. There are many other of his lyrics regarding water...

  13. this is the most underrated JB song in my opinion

    it's my favorite <3

anyways jeff was a legend, a sensitive soul with a voice of angels

This video is awesome (kinda weird but) ahh. He has such a goofy smile in the thumbnail :omfg2:
