  1. Am I the only one who feels like Lust for Life is almost like a rock opera about a specific, newly-cultivated persona? I thought of this after seeing this image the other day and just loving how everything ties together

The character doesn't have a name, so let's just go with Lana. But basically, Lana is a semi-reclusive witch, or an alien from the planet Daisyworld idk (daisies are obviously a motif) who has lived for generations, or at least she was alive during the last world war (because of WTWWAWWKD), endowed with powers of making people happy (or sad) that she could never control because she didn't understand herself enough. So she's always observed from her perch within the Hollywood sign, occasionally coming down to Earth (ie on Tuesdays) and sitting on the fire escapes of the city at night and listening to the hustle and bustle of society. But then came a breaking point where Lana finally decided that she needed to become a part of the world. The album is a journey through the stars, looking down from above, and through the Earth, finding beauty in these dark times, in an attempt to salvage America and the world. And she's doing it all from smack in the middle of Hollyweird.

WRITE MOAR THINGS *I love your writing.*

  2. Just got done through first listen and was really impressed. Lyrically this is so so solid. Like shockingly so  :O New themes, new perspectives. Same unnecessary fuzzy vocal filter where it isn't needed.

Immediate standouts are 13 Beaches, Cherry, Beautiful People, When The World Was At War, G.B.A. and Get Free.

Tomorrow Never Came is such a great story, not sure how I feel about Shawn Lemon, however not as highpitched as i'd expected.

Beautiful People, Beautiful Problems are like her best lyrics ever.

The pre-chorus of When The World Was At War... is one of the best moments on any Lana song. So sick

Cherry is so fun. What Freak tried to be. Her voice in bridge is so cute and playful.

I think this album has so much more personality than Honeymoon, apparent straight away.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of Freak when I heard Cherry.

  3. My fav user review of lfl:

Shi*-Lana. This trash is like 'Born To Die' 4.0 I won't say that it lacks much, it lacks EVERYTHING. The disc is honeymoon from beginning to the end. Don't reinvents, keep talking about sugar daddys and drugs. Stop right there Fa*s. Don't you see it's the same Malibu Stacy but no hat?

Edit: He gave witness a 10 wtf

Wait witness came out already? When?

  4.

I do too. Something else I really love about it is its placement on the record. It comes right after the brooding outro of Heroin:

    Heroin -

"I hope that I come back one day

To tell you that I really changed, baby

Makes me feel like I can change all of my evil ways and shit"

    Change -

"Change is a powerful thing, people are powerful beings

Change is a powerful thing, I feel it coming in me"

Ah, I didn't catch onto that! Lana is literally killing me.

  5. And if you read his/her critic... It says she's still talking about sugar daddies and drugs and that this album is the same as Honeymoon... smh

I love Honeymoon but LFL has nothing to do with that masterpiece! (LFL is another masterpiece REALLY different from HM or UV or BTD)

There are some people who refuse to move one from the whole Born To Die fiasco.

Like seriously, this album does not mention anything about sugar daddies. Ok yeah a song titled Heroin. Ooo ya got one.

I wanna punch him in his throat.

  6. She should do another Tropico styled short-film for Lust for Life~

a blend of her creating the album as well as the story she hinted at in her recent interview. A mixture of reality documentary and story a la Lana~

(Although I'd be so down for a heap of beautiful music videos for Groupie Love/Get Free/13 Beaches(especially with that intro))

Yes, that is a super good idea! Get this to Lana!!!!
