How does everyone plan to listen to the album for the first time? I usually drive somewhere special per the vibe of the album but I just can't seem to think of where I want to go for this one. I went to a park with lots of fall colored trees for BB, in front of a church for COCC, where they dock sailboats at the lake for NFR, downtown Minneapolis for LFL, and on the interstate for HM. I think I just listened to UV at home. Does anyone else have a ritual like this? I wish I still lived by the ocean for this one!

Just checked on the status of my Target order and they canceled it back in February without even notifying me Why tho. I better be able to snag it from my local store on Friday dammit. -

I'm sure y'all have probably already read this poor boy to death but WOW, the complex interview was so wooden and weird. Lana looked absolutely gorgeous and was just as much a breath of fresh air as always, but all those long cuts of Noah just staring at her dead-eyed while she spoke were so hard to sit through. It seemed like he wasn't even there or listening to her responses, just waiting to read his questions in the same, slow, monotone way. He didn't react to her responses at all. And, for the most part, he didn't even ask anything that hasn't been asked to death this era. "I see you're smiling on the cover" "I see some of the album is more political". It must take a lot of patience to answer the same questions over and over again while still coming across as genuine and likeable. If the energy seemed low on Lana's end it's only because Noah acted as a black hole, sucking every bit of energy out of the interview through that lifeless stare. What a waste of a beautiful set and look for Lana. Ah well, I will never tire of listening to and watching Lana talk, even if it's with someone so dull. Her smile alone is radiant enough to make up for it. -
girl me too I was literally like "DAAAAAAMMNNNN" when I saw this one. Bitch is on fire.

I saw someone saying that Get Free reminded them of an unreleased song. Dunno if it's been said but the "Sometimes I feel like I've got a war in my mind" "I never really noticed that I had to decide" parts sorta remind me of the "L is for your love that you gave and took away" "V is for my valiant, valiant baby" parts of Beautiful Player. Anyone else? -

I just listened for the first time at the stroke of midnight, driving around downtown Minneapolis and I AM FUCKIN BLOWN AWAY. The album did, indeed, fuck my ENTIrE shit up. I hope Lana forgives us all for being such brats this whole time because she truly outdid herself with this one. I know we say it all the time, but we really don't deserve her lol. This album has a much clearer and more decipherable storyline than any of her previous albums. It's obvious but it also still leaves room for speculation and nuance. The ultra 60s shangri-las vibes from LFL and Get Free are excellent bookends. Get Free sonically imbibes LFL but the lyrics show the growth she's gone through since the beginning of the album. Ugh, perfect. And Change seriously sounds like a Lennon song. That's a huge compliment coming from someone who would probably literally eat John Lennon's shit (me). I cried so hard when I listened to it. And Sean and Lana sound so good together in Tomorrow Never Came. That was truly two worlds colliding for me, like a fuckin dream. I can't get over it. There are so many folky, hippie era moments, from the sassy hard-hitting political bits to the folky singer-songwriter bits. I wasn't expecting the album to be such a thorough tribute to the 60s and 70s. It's retro future for sure, but in a way more thoughtful and involved way than I anticipated. Also, we got EVERY kind of Lana vocal on here. We are so spoiled oh my god. I have officially PERISHED I can't wait to spend every spare moment of my life absorbing this album over the coming days. -

So is the official release at Midnight local time or? I'm trying not to listen to the leak and just wait until it officially drops, but y'all are making it hard because the way you're describing SOUNDS LIKE ITS GONNA FUCK MY SHIT RIGHT UP -
Here it is! Wowza that took forever. I didn't realize until typing it up how much Stevie just kind of used this as an opportunity to talk about herself, her life, and her opinions. It got pretty tedious typing out all those long passages about her life that no one asked for lol. I love Stevie but phew, aside from when Lana talked about her fav tracks and how she went from BTD to LFL, they pretty much only talked about Stevie. Towards the end, it felt like Lana was hardly talking at all. When she did talk, she was just reiterating what Stevie said. Ah well. Here you go:
