The song is alright. I like it better than Your Power. But the amount of people slut shaming her for having boobs in the comments is unreal. She's literally just wearing comfy ass clothes.

I don't think I've heard another song quite like Cruel World. It's jarring, emotional, euphoric, cathartic... It's so unique and powerful.

I just don't get why Ariana took her post in the most negative way possible, but oh well. I think I remember Marina replying to one of Lana's tweets in a friendly manner after QFTC though.

I relate 100%. I could never relate to people who said that her music is sad. It definitely has a melancholy sound sometimes but it never makes me sad. It's hard to explain.

What is the general consensus on this album coming out on July 4th? Is it happening or nah?

I know this was a while ago and normally I don't really care about celebrity friendships, but It's kind of lame af that Ariana unfollowed Lana after her Question for the Culture post. Ariana in general seems lame.

Hm what makes you think so? I think she's just a good storyteller and uses her own thoughts and experiences to dress up and create her lyrics.

I can't figure out how I feel about NFR and COCC. There are things that each album has that I think the other needs. I feel like COCC has better vocals and personal/emotional storytelling, but NFR has a better tracklist/flow and was an all-around more exciting era. COCC didn't even have an album trailer and the roll out was kind of underwhelming at times. I don't know how to rank these albums.

I feel like Freak is a bit underrated on this website. It's a banger and I absolutely love the instrumental.

I agree. The only songs on NFR that felt like an emotional breakthrough were The Greatest, HIAB, and HIADT. California also kind of has that honest feeling but I think us knowing who the song is about (Barrie) contributes to that. The rest are good/great songs but they don't have that emotional honesty that I crave from her music.

No hate to Mike Dean because I thought he did a good job... but Wildflower Wildfire would have been so extra next level if it were produced by Rick Nowels.

It's kind of insane that they have never worked together before. They're a match made in heaven. Lana once said that she liked his movies so she needs to contact his ass ASAP.

the covers of Wildflower Wildfire and Text Book are giving me acid flashbacks Text Book is so beautiful. I hope the rest of the album sounds just as good as that song. Wildflower Wildfire is great and made me tear up. Blue Banisters is obviously very personal. I like it but I need a few more listens to get completely into it.

I haven't been on much lately but Mike said the record isn't finished... so what's with the July 4th date? Do we think that's when the single is dropping? It sure as hell isn't the day the album is dropping. But omg I'm so excited that she's working with someone new.

Karma, particularly the acoustic version, is the best song from the L+F era.

I don't know how to feel about Purge the Poison. The song sounds really good and is fun to listen to, but there's something empty about the lyrics. It almost feels like they don't fit the song.
