I was one of those who bitched around about professional live performances. Well after these two performances I have to reconsider it. I have to resign to the fact that Lana is a studio singer, she obviously doesn't enjoy these performances, they became stalled, she wears the same outfits and they play the same videos behind her over and over again. She clearly didn't upped her live game enough and after almost 5 years of touring talking about nerves is just a lame excuse anymore. She was beautiful but her heart wasn't in it, she ran of the stage as she never wanted to be there in the first place. She has glimpses of magic during her shows and the fans usually capture them and frankly never gets better than those

These dance routines and the girls aren't working. She needs to go back to the stripped version of her show, with strings in small intimate venues, those were her best shows. Even rock Lana is much better than what she attempted during LFL.

CW, VG and OTTR were the best part of the show. BTD and UV remain unbothered.

Wow! at some of the reactions at what I said yesterday. But what can you expect from some 12 y.o. or from some people who think that faking being gay on a forum is cool. I love Lana since 2013 but I think that she has rushed out HM, which had some very good songs but overall was too monotone, and I think that she is coming out again with another album that will be subpar. I think that she doesn't have someone around her to check her artistic output anymore, to say to her face that this lyric or that concept it's not good. UV, which in my opinion is her best album to date, was born during her relationship with Barrie and you can tell that Barry and Dan had a great influence on UV compared with the yesman attitude of Nowels on HM.

Love was a nice combination song+mv. LFL is just the opposite. It"s so bad that I have to say that she better cancels altogether the release of the album. We are talking about the title track and not about some bonus track. The whole Hollywod sign concept is just the expression of Lana's creative breakdown, it's nothing meaningful behind it. She needs to save what's good on the album, take her time, because this hodgepodge of half-baked or straight silly ideas will result in a major critical and commercial flop. The problem is that her fandom is not that forgiving as once was.

I had to watch it again when I saw some favorable comments. But no, I just can't watch it without fast forwarding it. This video is so ridiculous, on so many levels that I just can't. Is a cheap creative breakdown, that emphasize Lana's every weakness: she can't act or dance, she just look stiff and silly most of the time. This is the first Lana video I just cannot watch. Major dissapointment for me, LFL is in the end just a big pile of shit.

Out of curiosity I checked the other interviews from the KROQ festival. All of them were full videos only Lana's is audio only. I don't understand this, she doesn't want to be recorded at all on tv anymore? I find this super annoying because we want to see her (still, she has several times more views than Paramore)

Well, after I saw her live version of LFL I have to say that she needs to invest much more in her live shows if she wants to mantain a high profile career. Her fandom is getting thin and she'll never get new fans with performances like this. She can sing but she needs to prepare these layered songs better and she needs to learn to move and to be more expresive on stage. Her shows are still devoid of energy which can work with Ride, BTD or VG type of songs but not with LFL.The backup dancers were a nice idea but they seem redundant now, I think that she needs some quality backup singers instead. It was sad to see her in the afternoon, performing before a disconnected crowd.

This Kroq "festival" was as flop as its name. I"m not that interested in the interview because they don't take her seriously. I remember some of her former US radio interviews and they were borderline mockery. Cherry is good and in my opinion it doesn't sound like anything she has done before (all of the comparisons made are forced). For me the LFL video is essential. Besides being another possibly great video alongside Love this era, it has to put some meaning in those lyrics and revive the song for me. I hope that has some sort of spooky story and has great visuals. The trailer it's kind of spooky so I'm looking forward to seeing it

It's time to stop this nonsense. It's obvious that the album it's not coming out on may the 26th. It would be strange to come out without an announcement from her, without the tracklist etc. Paris Match is a serious publication but the only thing that I trust is Lana's announcement. July 21th seems logical for a release date taken in account what Lana wants from her career: quiet releases, some live shows and to keep her fanbase interested mainly through released music and less through flashy promo. The photo-shoots so far this era were great btw

May 26th was fake news. Lana is messy sometimes but she would have released the track list so far. The whole era was messed up by the early leak and they had to stretch everything because she wouldn't change her approach. In July she will not have any competition or pressures.The promo started practically this week

I love her. So it's not that easy to have a complete life if you are a beautiful and famous person. I still cannot process what she said about not dating for a year and a half. I have to admit that I'm jealous of her but I'm really rooting for her now to find someone nice to have a family with. She clearly was incredibly affected by what's happened at the end of 2011 and in 2012. She said again that she should have stopped but I'm glad that she didn't. Meanwhile, I bitched about promo and high profile performances...I will be glad with a good album and some (good quality) phone recorded performances

No one cares, at least here I hope, about Shakira and no one (in their right mind) cares about the #1 spot when she practically did zero promo. My only expectations are that she'll not flop hard because that could affect her career and to enjoy the album (after the Flaunt interview I have hope again)

I'm still not a fan of the production but I really like CWIMM. Last night was on repeat. I always doubt her but she's always capable to surprise me (that's the secret for a long relationship btw)

So there's hope that in this form CWIMM will not be on the album but I definitely can see it reworked in the future because the melody and lyrics are not bad at all

I respect her going in a different direction. Love and CWIMM are socially aware and I have to say that in my opinion they have decent lyrics. The problem is that Lana has released before only one song that has a (indirect) social message: VG. People loved her lyrics because they were about the self, love and depression. Political messages in songs are difficult to pull out and they are rarely popular. Furthermore, you must have an image as an artist that makes people accept the message without irony. Unfortunately, Lana developed a self-obsessed image and people will found difficult to get into her preachy style. I don’t think that this fandom is here for this type of message tbh. I think that some of us misunderstood what Lana was talking about when she said that this album is for the fans: now I think that she meant that she wants to help her fans to be more connected to what’s happening in the world. I think that many fans interpreted her intentions as a return to the BTD glory days and to the best of UV and now they are disappointed either by the lyrical content or the music. As I see it now, with this album she’ll lose a lot of core fans and she’ll gain next to nothing. Now I understand why Ed was so down: their golden goose is gone.

The lyrics aren't that bad so stop being pretentious. The melody is quite good. The production and those beats are awful and her singing has to stop to be so blase because it makes every song to sound the same.
