i’m glad people have already gotten their merch but last night i was on beyonces website looking at her merch and lana needs to hire her team because the merch is gorgeous and so wearable

i’m trying to not get too excited for this because theres a 90% chance it'll be the 658th leg of the born to die tour but i’m keeping a little hope alive ✨

i was really worried for this album. i’m not the biggest country fan so was cautious to not get too excited for it just had my first listen... i was SO wrong to be worried, this album is really good enjoyed almost all the songs. a few misses (but to be expected on an album with well over 20 songs) highlights for me: AMERIICAN REQUIEM SMOKE HOUR BODYGUARD SPAGHETTII II MOST WANTED LEVIIS JEANS YA YA II HANDS II HEAVEN TYRANT AMEN (the outro is KNTY) will digest this album over the next few months, gonna take me a while. i remember i wasnt sold on renaissance at first but it became one of my favourite bey releases, so i’m glad this one has clicked a bit earlier for me 7.9/10

exactly my thoughts! i remember that interview too and thats why i think i was subconsciously expecting a grander production. jolene is a fantastic song so i still really enjoyed it but i feel THEE yoncè couldve done a little more with it

just listened to jolene its good! not as grand as i was expecting it to be and probably sonically level with dollys version. i still enjoyed it though and her voice works well with the track

the crazy thing is the fan made merch is (in most cases) impeccable. one search on etsy or redbubble (to a much lesser extent) brings back infinitely better looking, better quality and most importantly, more wearable merch. budget isnt an issue, lana is one of the biggest artists in the world at the moment, and she has huge label backing to bring in SO MUCH money in merch sales if they just listen to fans. it wouldnt be difficult either, hire a good graphic designer or host a better run competition than the LDRvillage attempt, maybe put a vote out online or pre-order and then print designs based on how many pre-orders (basically what theyve done with the 'exclusive' festival tee). they could even be shady and get inspo from fan designs, or even better, reach out to fans and work with them to put out a line of merch that we want. anyways i’m rambling, i’m just frustrated that her team refuses to put out wearable designs

her team have just never been good at clothes as merch, and ive made peace with that

the funny thing is the scalpers can list it for whatever price they want but when they realise noone will buy it for more than $40 at most they will just have an ugly tshirt sitting in their closet the free market has a funny way of dealing karma

i did check with elle before i gave some WPs yesterday as i wasnt actually 100% sure whether or not it counted as 'asking for links' (seeing as they are the limited release tracks) and wp's were given out after that chat because it’s a commercial release obvs it’s a grey area so we will have a chat abt it with elle and remove points if necessary but try not to ask for the link, as LB can get in legal trouble if it is in any way hosting links/paths to leaked material (which is why we are careful about it)

catherine isnt royal by blood? wherever she came from cancer is absolutely horrendous for anyone to have and hope she recovers quickly and takes well to chemo
