  1. I can't read lana's mind, i prefer to listen to an album and play my own tricks tbh. So I agree 100% with you because I actually feel lana is addressing her past self and music throughout all the album and tackles different stages of her relationship with art and the music industry ... but I can't help to think it's just my coping mechanism for disliking romance DDD: you look great, no other way to put it. honestly when i found out lana was becoming a cosmic witch it was all i could think of, the pre-fall collection was everything i would have loved to have, i'm such a fashion victim
  2. you look amazing, and all these clothes are gorgeous even those in the back it slightly reminds me of valentino 2015 the planets/stars collection (which is why i think this era had potential for more, but it's personal)
  3. I don't know if it's obvious, but it's definitely how I see it when I listen to it, because I definitely understand having music override your life until there's no more true space left for yourself and then enjoy it until your ears bleed. I mean she could be singing about a man for all i know but it's easier for me to connect it to Music.
  4. i love both carmen and freak ... the first is so sad and dark, it's both appropriate and shocking to sing like that about a young girl freak has a dope instrumental, and the message isn't that different from "come and take a walk on the wild side, let me kiss you hard in the pouring rain" which is yes - cliché, but it's still interesting. If I squint, all of HM could be about her relationship with music, with freak being about her being tempted to go to hollywood, california, let loose and embrace her art/music (it's reaching but my brain does little gymnastics like that )
  5. as a whole i still listen and love the album, there are so many little things that make it amazing. i'm really into the ominous drone-like sounds at the beginning of when the world was at war, and the little robotic chirpings background sounds of 13 beaches really sets the mood and futuristic tone. I feel like, Dayglo Reflection, which has lana as a feature but it's also one of my fave songs, could really fit the theme of the album, or like the themes i had in mind
  6. there are many posts here complaining about lana's laziness in general? her voice, her lyrics, her promo? but why are you making out this whole idea that some people consider lana faultless, it comes out of nowhere and it blows some few comments here and there out of proportion ? at the end of the day she probably calls her decisions and she chooses which direction and advice she takes: who is going to help her to achieve her vision. no one is doubting her agency. that's a different thing from saying that i don't like this producer or that mixer i remember reading about the chorus, so i don't know which part i'm not going to research it rn ... i still don't like the chorus tho
  7. lana flew all the way to sweden to consult with him and apparently he thought the whole "and i lust for life (x4) keeps us alive (x4)" was pleasant to listen to and should be in the chorus .... which ironically is my least fave part of the song and probably wasn't supposed to be this way. it's too high pitched for my tastes. Not saying the other version is better but it's considered "more touching" i don't remember by whom so that's interesting enough. so chill, it would only be nice if we got to hear it but that's not happening anyway i don't want any actual leak to occur tbh
  8. i love that while she's showcasing all the drama about herself and her boyfriend the mv showcases another storyline in the back about imminent nuclear war. Or what looks like launching nuclear missiles. I wonder if this is the reason we're getting the video now but i'm probably wrong ...
  9. don't come @me for not wanting lana to be happy but honestly the reason i'm not so fond of the lfl mv is because for two people as macabre, blasé about life but also as intense as Lana & The Weeknd are it was weird to see them so lovey-dovey, sittings cutely next to each other watching the city from above. not saying they should have founded a coven or something but i expected more action. and the dancing at the beginning was so cute it is actually how always envisioned the Lolita mv to be: a simple choreo in 60s gogo outfits with backup dancers, shots of super 8 with some cinematic quality in between and them spelling the L O V E letters with their hands in an adorable way
  10. from http://www.konbini.com/fr/entertainment-2/video-lana-del-rey-clip-futuriste-white-mustang/ so this guy found the job via a friend through facebook and it's his biggest gig yet (i'm sorry for him that the video had to be so MEH wish this random guy the best tho) and she had him listen to a lot of unreleased/unleaked sounds. i'm looking at the internet and the french press seems quite warm towards this video given the circumstances with stuff like "lana del rey - an independent woman" i'm pretty sure journalists reacted positively towards coachella mainly because of the sweet sentiment behind it hummm
  11. i still think she shouldn't have asked max martin for input regarding the lfl song if the original version was more touching and i would love to hear the more heavy version of 13 beaches with the horror themed strings. (and cherry too could have used more of that treatment, it has a fascinating creepy sound i would have liked to be exacerbated )
  12. the love mv was beautiful. i dreamt once to see my veranda at night with huge colourful fast moving planets by the horizon and i think whomever edited the video should have coloured the planets more to make them stand out and give the video more life but it's still the best and most accomplished video of the era. the cinematography actually tells a story with the way the video is headed and because it fits the song perfectly ... and even the b&w was used wisely blue velvet, twin peaks ... look them up they look very lana btd era. he's a composer, musician, director, writer you name it with a particular creepy pastel aesthetic edit:
  13. i'm watching people reacting to it on yt and they have no idea and lana fans in the comment section are outing her out like that
  14. i really really love how deliciously mature she looks in this video, already in Love she looked so voluptuous and wise in an unearthly way but the BAR WM mv has her looking like a godess you go Lana, i really think that the grounds in which she stands rn allow her to pen more mature and heavy lyrics so, if Heroin, F, Love, Architecture, Yosemite and RBFY are the direction she's going for i'm all for it. Themes of how things are and how things should be. I hope she makes an EP to close her journey of LfL or makes a more ambitious personal project for LDR6. As far as the video goes, I'll wait if she announces another one or she works her way though a new thing. I see her as having a very independent artistical mind so, jumping through conclusions, she probably didn't like how her label interfered with her UV mv and the whole debacle about the production with Dan Auerbach. I'm projecting but, I see why she would have a lull in terms of visual artistry. Also reading all these 2011/2014 think-piece writers wannabe and their botched up analysis and criticism of Lana's projects I'd be angry in a "you don't deserve me and my work" kind of way. I'd make iphone videos as a FU statement tbh ... And Lana has been releasing a lot: even artists who have their songs written and composed for them don't produce as much every single year. She's great in my books, now more than ever and even the classical artists of the past who stood the test of time weren't on their A grade in all instances. Lana still stands out because people are still concerned about her past work, all her previous albums and even her leaked/unreleased work is relevant to this day and she's unique and cohesive enough to justify why a lot of new wave artists look up to her. I don't know why I wrote a whole brick to say that I love lana so much, anyway i'm sure the best is yet to come and she looks damn fine in the video.
  15. you know i found that beginning very well put together and chilling too, it reminds me of 13 beaches because every time i hear "i'm camera ready" i have these huge feelings: i can see her looking at the camera and walking in - in a "i'm ready for my close ups" way
  16. honestly i'm glad, i didn't like it as a music video but i wouldn't want lana to be flooded by negativity either - i really don't mind people being very receptive to the video in the comment section (i shouldn't, but i get very protective of her)
  17. humm for me it depends on the execution, everything is possible even for worse. it could have been done poorly or tastefully depending on the people working on it .. plus blue jeans was 5 years ago, and as i said before the camera shoots were really reminiscing of a perfume ad, everything was there
  18. holy shit, she looks over the mess in her dreams like her peaches are ruined and it continues on as you said and she breaks the forth wall when she curses in her dream or hallucination (that(s too much, in't it? it's too extra to look at the camera) oh yes a petal storm while she rides or stands outside that would have been epic reminds me of the prada 10 women spring/summer 2013 advertising blue jeans looks like a perfume ad, i still love the video a lot tho
  19. i still think there's relevant footage left unused, a lot of wm is purely filler slow scenes like her grazing the stones and the looks/dancing almost all of it but damn she looks pretty i might watch this several times
  20. thanks, i haven't seen that video but i'm glad to know lana can ride a horse (ok it's totally unsurprising, still pleases me ) i really would have loved to see her standing on a horse fierce as hell while there's chaos all around her
  21. i certainly wouldn't have minded the aesthetic tbh like having lana as this rich heiress the intro (w music) would be her riding a horse and coming back to the stables and the song would kick in when she wanders around the mansion and the colours get warmer like in freak and there are these weird hallucinations about guns and fires as she's trying to remember her lover. all of that with badass outfits and fierce makeup and hair + domme lana aes because why not
  22. holy smokes you are right but there are also the "broom broom" sounds of a motorbike in lfl and the rapid "vroom" in wm (esp at the end) but no actual car or motorbike around during those scenes ...
