Stay Away is one of my fave Charli songs of all time but I cannot listen to it sometimes... without crying.. lately I’ve had to skip it a lot.

True Romance is definitely my favorite Charli album and I have enjoyed it so much, but I just experienced my first heartbreak ummm literally this week and I'm not brave enough to even press play on some of the songs ):

Totally agree! Some people may think we are pointing this just because Charli constantly reads this thread, which is completely delusional. It's just facts. We already have like 90% of the most wanted leaks. It's just ridiculous to keep this obnoxious attitude, especially when some fans are asking for songs even when she's tweeting about being depressed or having a bad day. We are lucky enough to have a popstar that constantly take input from fans and don't give a shit about spotify, numbers, charts or label things. It's time to sit down and just watch Charli  release the stuff she wants and on her own terms.

yes grins gets sufficient praise, but sometimes.... ugh, thank you queen <3 i just got back inside from getting high on the balcony (and smoking a parliament tbh ugh fuck west coast her impact, ironically this is helping me quit juul lmfao). i put grins on first (airpods pro and tidal hifi, it really makes a difference!) and hit this a+ new 'outer space' pen i got earlier. the past couple days my dialectic pisces internal monologue has been transcribing my thots/feels for my special someone in a cute msg that'll be attached to sum. this literally happens at least once a month--i just kinda contemplate and, though the words are still beautiful, i have a breakthrough and condense all of those thoughts in my passage back to one simple line. there's power in simplicity. in this case, i had my breakthrough about two-thirds into grins. it took the change of one word from my original sentence. i was smiling at how simple it was, and looking between downtown and the treetops. 
 
 
 
listened you're the one next and, of course, still smiling, cute shit. i listen to the original single sometimes (eg earlier) because i love the cover, and have since the song came out in 2012. i have distinct memories of playing it from my iphone early spotify era, nonstop, amazed at the sledgehammer-synths, probably getting in the shower before school. (she's always been experimental and doesn't get enough credit for that either btw.)

i love the fact it’s charli herself “leaking” and playing demos and super rough early tracks and all the information about the album like...she took CONTROL!

anyways,,, it's all cool and fun, love seeing all these critics, thoughts, opinions and ideas! at the end of the day charli remains the musical genius/goddess of all time whatever she decides to drops. i don't care. after the afterparty? legendary. boys? iconic. 1999? cultural reset. love her to death.
 

Repeating a phrase isn’t new for her or for pop music so I don’t really understand that being a particular reason to dislike the song.
 
Also, Sucker “had that lyrical quality” ???? Where lmao, I mean the whole fanbase was overall not happy with Sucker after TR because the lyrics were not nearly as good overall.
 
I mean, she’s literally making this album in a month.. so I don’t think it makes sense to expect poetic lyricism on a project that is intentionally rushed + collaborative. I don’t think Charli has lost her ability to write deeper lyrics, she’s just not aiming for that with this project. Idk. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It sucks for those of you that aren’t feeling Charli’s current direction. I think where she’s at right now musically makes perfect sense.. & it’s just really nice as a longtime fan to see her so happy making music with people that inspire her; a group of friends / collaborators that help her to be the prolific musical genius that she has always been.
 
Charli has been checking all the boxes for me in her music these past few years. Claws has a lot of production quirks I’ve always loved in different genres over the years.. it’s like Charli knows all my favorite things in music & knows just how to use them in a song. The glitchy beats, strong + catchy melody, auto tune, chopped vocals, synths, perfect adlibs + backing vocals, the lyrical nods to past songs.. (rollercoaster ride) & even with simple lyrics it’s still such a sweet & emotional love song at its core. I’m obsessed!!! The punchy, bouncy bass. The treble. & that outtro!!! Every second is BLISS.
