I want to see Charles react to some dope ass metal... THAT would be interesting lol.
-
"Why u comin' down like WOW?"
-
Are they actually doing that? That really doesn't sound like all that bad of a plan, since Charli is getting the buzz being on a massive tour... so long as songs are ACTUALLY released lol.
-
Focus On My Love and Round and Round are two sides of the same coin...
-
"Focus" proves one thing..... XCX3 isn't dead!!
-
Yeah, that could just be because all we've ever heard of it is live audio... or the effect could be exaggerated due to it, at least.
-
It sounds GOOD!! :flutter: XCX3 had better release with like a 2 disc, 30 track deluxe edition lmao... there's just way too much pop perfection!
-
Right but if it's some type of sub-entity that they don't have to market or push anywhere near as hard... it could just be a cash grab where all the XCX fans can get all the "b-sides" that "weren't good enough" for the massive, big-label release. They're already barely pushing N1A and POP2... That's the problem, I mean people love all these unreleased songs/demos and stuff, but it's like the label is still acting like it's 1980/pre-internet days or something... back when people had no way of knowing what artists were working on, what songs they wrote and didn't make the album or whatever... That's the thing, like people KNOW and people WANT these tracks and would spend the money to PURCHASE these tracks! lol If they don't want the tracks to leak and be floating around for free (which they already have) at least put them up for sale in some capacity. Obviously to Charli's discretion... Idk how all the licensing and distribution fees work, or even if it truly needs to be done at this point. It's super easy as an independent artist, to just upload music somewhere these days and charge either a flat rate per song, or even enable/accept additional donations to purchase the music. Idk, in some ways Atlantic's way of doing business just seems kind of outdated, but I mean I guess that's just the general perception from the outside. It just seems like they're sitting on a gold mine. All things considered, Charli has a respectable fanbase and these songs are worth something to a lot of people.

Why can't all of her XCX3/SOPHIE/PC Music era unreleased bangers come out via Vroom Vroom Recordings?? :defeated:
-
Sooo... XCX3 isn't dead?? :defeated:
-
Gonna be honest, it wasn't exactly the kind of material that I wanted to hear out of Charli... but I'd be lying if I said it hasn't been stuck in my head for the last couple of days lol
-
It's Charli BABY!!! Unlock It is an interesting choice for the set-list... and her falsettos @ 3:20... :flutter:
-
I just love Round & Round!! :defeated: Release it Queen Charles!
-
Lol this era is such a mess... Poor Charles...
-
Yesss!! She sounds so good on the album version too... :flutter: Underrated track!

Yeeeah, maybe I jump to conclusions from time to time... and that's the last thing I want to do is sound like a conspiracy theorist or whatever, but I just try to make sense of it all in my head, like I ask "why is all this happening?" That's just how I am... I want to know why. Idk, like if you read between the lines its like Charli made an album, and if it was truly "done and the best stuff she's ever done" and the label ultimately hasn't pulled the trigger, I see that as removing creative control from the artist at that point. It's no ill-will against Charli, her creativity is not in question at all... it's just that those are kind of the implications. Even she was upset with the label for a while... publicly. Idk, I'm just bitter that Vroom Vroom was the big tease of things to come with XCX3... I've had my "angry-forum-goer pitchforks" out and maybe I like to call out Atlantic a little too much lmao... but SOPHIE, PC Music, Round and Round, Taxi, etc... everything was sounding great and fresh, you see that within the fanbase there's all this excitement... but then it's all label hell for like 2+ years, "album's coming out, album's coming out!" and it has just never come out lol. I was super hyped for all of that... And don't get me wrong, the mixtapes are great. I do like them a lot, and at least the label settled on the terms to allow her to release them... allow her release SOMETHING, ya know? But we all know the album was something different... What I'm trying to say is that I wish the label seemed to trust in Charli's creative vision MORE, because if they did, we likely would had the album ages ago. It's like that business aspect is getting in the way of the art, and that's what I really dislike about the music industry. That's why I like a lot of "mid-label" type artists... the kind of stuff that is still super good, catchy, more alternative and even progressive takes on pop rock and pop music, but the label doesn't muck up the creative or album release process for the sake of pushing the latest big hit. I mean, we all know how hard Charli works, but even if she wanted to release a bunch of stuff, I feel that the label is only going to push what they want to push, trying to force a hit, and we'll never get to hear anything, even if it's good... People love Bounce, Round and Round, GNO, Taxi, and all these other withheld songs, so like, where are they? But I guess even if Charli herself didn't want to release them, that's her choice, but it's her loss as well. There's demand... maybe not the kind the label is expecting, but IMO, they're making this era far too complicated. Ughhh... lol idk mannn... probably not the best wording here, but I just want to see Charli do big things. She's my favorite pop queen... because she's different. And Atlantic signed her, so it's like, let her BE different. Let her be a little bit off-beat ya know? That's her thing.
-
Sounded like she had some harmonies and filler vocals in there too but I only listened once... not sure.
-
That verse was such a better fit for Charli though, seriously...
-
That's probably difficult to do when your label doesn't seem to value you as an artist or see eye-to-eye with your vision, ya know? You can see Charli's passion for her work on POP2 and how much it means to her, and yet the label (I'm 90% sure) has her go out an debut some trappy new direction, completely out of left field, when she's been personally promoting and trying to do PC Music infused stuff for the last 3 years. ...I guess what I'm trying to say is she probably just wants to be heard, so she'll take any big break she gets. Idk.
-
I know what you're talking about... Charli stole the show with that performance! That verse was perfect for her too.
-
When will Charli-queen bless us with the *actual* Round and Round studio version? 'Girl needs to go full independent, major labels are failing us all lol. Vroom Vroom Records is the future. :flutter:

It was too forward-thinking... big labels are all about the money, not the art, and if the typical pop sound is going to appeal to the masses, that's what they're going to try and push. It sucks. Charli has more of an "alternative" appeal... yet she has the talent and has had a few cross-over hits that went huge. It's almost like the label is desperately trying to recreate that, and its gotten in the way of her vision for XCX3, and because she isn't really that typical pop star figure that the major labels like to market, it's very likely seen as a risk to release an album of futuristic, electro/PC Music, game-changing party bops. It's more of an "underground" sound ATM... The music industry is just in the pits... it's a shame. The mainstream pop formula has gotten so stale, yet it's all they continue to want to push.
-
Uhhhh.... is that the cover art?
-
I was thinking, Sucker was a really really good album... like whatever XCX3 turns out to be, I hope it is like that same "level" of quality. Just quality pop music, I just hope it has that cool "future" vibe she's been shooting for and she gets the marketing she deserves.
