I just listened to POP 2 all the way through for the first time in a while... Brilliant... magnificent... a progressive electro-pop masterpiece!

Ahh, they're just starting... I think they need more time and material yet, to get themselves out there. If you look their live shows up on YouTube, it looks like they've got some pretty cool unreleased stuff coming. Hopefully the "Season 1" EP title implies a "Season 2" or something more coming soon. The material seems to be there. I will agree that the show made them more likable as a band... I've always been a fan of Debbie though because of the Sucker era. She's cool. Right from the first time I saw her play on SNL and nail that final chorus of Boom Clap... she was great... and Charli, being able to put Boom Clap (which, I still think is a fantastic song) to a name and face... the all girl band... https://www.reddit.com/r/xcxheads/comments/av17qw/boom_clap_live_on_snl_xcxheads_video_archives/ Glad this is still out there somewhere. Like this is when everything clicked for me... and Debbie was apart of it, for sure.

All that lead up promo for a shelved album...

How are vague descriptions of events and personal feelings of hers “lies” exactly? I don’t think anyone really knows much about Charli’s personal life to say... People can speculate, but it doesn’t make it fact. I DO think POP 2 has a certain “veneer” and level of polish and cohesion that “Charli” doesn’t necessarily have, I will say that... but I don’t think that makes the album any less “complete.” I’m sure “Charli” had to conform to Atlantic’s album format, to a certain degree, in order to see a release.

Idk about y’all but Charli really came for my emotions this era... I didn’t expect it at all, or for her to open up about certain things as much as she did... and for there being maybe a couple of weaker songs on the album, there are several outstanding ones that make up for it. Like on Warm, the way in the outro her voice almost resembles a wind instrument, which she’s kinda done before on Lucky, but vocally, she’s really starting to do a lot of little things that feel very unique to her. And I’ve said this about Warm before but it just feels like with some of her newer songs, they just kind of embody these little “worlds” of their own. Same with I Don't Wanna Know... similar effect, different feeling and mood. These particular tracks are very visually stimulating for me personally, due to the tonal production choices and the way they’re produced. And Charli has always had great production behind her, but looking back on N1A for instance, those songs mostly just feel like well-produced bops (which is fine), rather than “worlds of sound” if you know what I mean. It’s like these super fine, subtle details and ambience that help create a “landscape” and mood.

The Reputation Tour squad... touring duties called though, I suppose. Also, a reminder to all that Tears is the best song on POP 2 and a career highlight!
