Is "Beyoncé" just a big rip-off of Lana Del Rey?
urbannoize replied to evilentity's topic in Lana Thoughts
After reading your entire post, i was about to say you had a very stronger argument LOL. Almost convinced me for a second. Thats is, until that troll face appeared lol. But who knows, Bey probably was inspired by her lol. You're probably right. Good analysis. And i really like the Beyonce album -

NEW MUSIC: Lana Del Rey feat. Jay Z - Born To Die [urban Noize Remix] And just when i thought the Lana Del Rey and Jay Z remixes couldnt get anymore dope, this one right here is just another to add to list. Because as i finish it up, and listen back, it builds the story of Lana's record. It will serve as a bonus track from American Beauty, and releases December 25.

Just came across this video, and its very dope. The dancers on it killed their routine to our Lana Del Rey & Jay Z Hundred Dollar Bill remix. The record can be found on our recently released Lana Del Rey and Jay Z remix EP titled American Beauty. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcqM0Mzy6eo&feature=youtu.be&a Lana Del Rey feat. @@Ultraviolence's analysis on TROPICO was pretty much accurate and spot on. Couldn't have said it better. & As far as my view on it, i can see and understand how she decided to use some of her favorite icons John Wayne, Elvis, Jesus, and Marlin Monroe as kind of like the God like inspiration that influence and effect her life. & Tying that into the biblical themes she grew up with, with her being raised catholic at some point. Like she really incorporated parts of her life and beliefs into this symbolic piece of art. While still communicating the themes of lost innocence, love, and redemption. & I feel like Anthony Mandler did a good job with her vision. Although, as someone pointed out, i could only imagine what Woodkid wouldve been able to do.
-
Very well said. You hit it right on the head
-
Woodkid i could definitely see redoing Tropico. & Visually it wouldve definitely been heavier in terms of how he decided to execute the symbolism.

The Bel Air scene couldnt have been more perfect. From the shots in the field, to the great and wonderful lightening. Theres just something about it that elevates the record. Plus Lana looked amazing. She mind as well have been an angel. & The Garden of Eden scene as well was great. From the colors and shots, to how John Wayne, Marliyn Monroe, and Jesus was captured. There was this very dope approach taken with them that i havent seen before. & The way everything just plays out was perfect too. & You get so caught up in the music and her dancing, that you forget that she's about to do something forbidden by eating the fruit.
-
Agreed. He would've brought the perfect edge

You're welcome ! Lol. & Im happy to be getting this kind of feedback from the American Beauty. Lets me know i really delivered on it. & The Heart Shaped Box remix had to be one of the most anticipated on the project, haha. & Dope to see Hundred Dollar Bill be as impactful. Definitely was one of the most dope putting together
