On further reflection, miss V*l*r*e has been making several points. I have to admit, reading his posts got me infuriated at first. It's too bad his thinking is actually a bit too advanced for LanaBoards standards. I hope she doesn't get banned. -

I'm going to DELETE all my Lana albums from iTunes because she did not call out the rusty corpse of some hippie singer how DISGUSTING of her not to use her platform for igniting mass sociopolitical change and advancing my political agenda. -

I feel like they accidentally uploaded the wrong version onto the CD, or the physical copies were pressed before they made the final changes. -

You are TRYING to get my girl clocked, booked and locked. @@ivy ma'am, don't grab it and run. First find a way to discretely rip off any electronic tags that could set off the alarms. Then gently slip her into your purse and strut calmly out the door no feeling guilty cause you did the RIGHT thing -

what song are you talking about specifically? there are countless examples of her doing low vocals live (e.g. ride at Langs de Leeuw, blue jeans/born to die at the itunes festival). i think it has more to do with controlling her breath on stage, which she's not really that good at, whether that's due to nerves or whatever. that could easily interfere with her ability to sustain low notes. it's gonna be a different scenario when she's calm and relaxed in the studio setting with the chance for several vocal takes until she is satisfied -

omg why are y'all calling her lower register autotuned now? the disrespect to her talent smh! can you give some examples where her pitch was altered? -
Honeymoon - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
sweetie replied to annedauphine's topic in Post-Release Threads
I clicked on a Honeymoon track by accident, after not having listened for months, and whew chile... it just reaffirmed to me what a GORGEOUS sounding album this is. The reverb is just perfect, adding a rich luscious touch to the sonic atmosphere. Her silky vocals enveloping the sweeping strings, scattered piano embellishments and softly subdued bass. It hits so lightly on the ears yet it carries so much emotional weight with it. Yes ma'am she done did that -

Pretty sure that was her own decision. She sang lower on purpose so she and her music would be taken more seriously. -

Agreed. Honeymoon didn't click with me until I was baked out of my mind and could really internalise it all -- much of the album's gold is hidden in (and by) the subtleties of the soundscape, and it doesn't become too obvious until you really pay attention and let yourself get lost in the music. The soft, restrained production is a deceitful cover-up of the strikingly painful and dramatic emotions that drives the lyrics, melodies and harmonies. It does take a second thought to put your mind in the right perspective, and a second taste for your palettes to become acquainted. Although I'm not as excited for Jack's production -- it just seems like there's less of it than with Rick/Kieron -- I can't wait to really get to know NFR
