Not related to anything we've been talking about lately, but I made this modest slideshow video for "The Woods" earlier this month: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHeXCrsT56c

Let's see... I've seen a decent amount of DBZ (I only got into it three years ago) I've also seen Princess Mononoke, all but the last 11 episodes of Death Note, the first 11 of Baka and Test, and have only just started Future Diary. I'm planning to watch Neon Genesis Evangelion, Hetalia: Axis Powers, and Sailor Moon once I finish the ones above. That and re-watch Sakura Cardcaptors and Inuyasha (watched both off-and-on when I was little)

YES. A Bowie thread! On the topic of introductions, David Bowie's my favorite musical artist of all, this despite not having heard any of his 90's albums (save for Outside and parts of Black Tie White Noise), or his mid-70's ones (except for Station to Station). My favorite albums would have to be The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, Station to Station, and Low.

Not quite, part of it was Capitol Records repackaging everything they'd recorded in Britain 1962-1963 and releasing it all at once for the American market.

Just for some perspective, imagine what American Beatles fans had to deal with in 1964. Five albums: Meet the Beatles! The Beatles' Second Album A Hard Day's Night Something New Beatles '65 Three non-album singles "Twist and Shout" / "There's a Place "Do You Want to Know a Secret" / "Thank You Girl" "Love Me Do" / "P.S. Love You" A movie: A Hard Day's Night

Going by invested time and "seniority" in addition to personal appreciation, while also excluding any and all classical composers. Also only going until Charli appears: David Bowie The Beatles Madonna Charly García (only listened to 2 albums in their entirety) Pink Floyd (only listened to 2 albums) Kate Bush Virus Prince (only listened to 2 albums in their entirety) Grimes Duran Duran Queen Sky Ferreira Los Prisioneros Charli XCX This year though, by time & intensity of stanning, it's been: Obssessed over 1-Sky Ferreira 2-Grimes 3-Charli XCX Lighter stanning 4-Marina and the Diamonds 5-Lorde 6-Lana Del Rey 7-David Bowie 8-Regina Spektor 9-The Rolling Stones Got two albums but barely listened to them 9-Goldfrapp 10-Tegan and Sara 11-Roxy Music 12-Alizée

I dreamt I met Sky the other day. It was such a random dream. There was this smallish fanclub waiting for her on the beach, and once she arrived we all went to this classromm in... a middle school. Then she started talking with her fans and signing autographs and stuff. After a while everyone started to leave because a group of kids were coming to have class. I'm the only fan left in the room and I want her to sign a picture of her in the InStyle magazine. She kinda doesn't want to so I rip a little strip of paper out of some school supplies nearby and ask her to sign that. She does and then the strangest thing happens: I randomly show her my my right hand saying, "Look, I have pink polka dots!" (I have no idea how the pink marker dots got there) And she replies cheerfully, "That's so daisuuki! You'll be so cute when you grow up!" (I actually have no idea what the Japanese word means, but she meant something along the lines of kawaii) Then I rushed off after saying goodbye with a kiss on the cheek (customary in Peru) -End-

Sorry for the OT, but You have work??

So this just came out: Quote: Tell me about the new album. I love your last EP, Ghost. I know you said once that the EP formed kind of accidentally. Sky: Oh yeah, but I like it too. The songs were last-minute, but this EP coming up was not last-minute. There will be some songs on there that I've been playing at my shows: "You're Not the One," "I Will," "Love Stereo," and "Ain't Your Right." But no one's actually heard the recorded versions yet—they sound way different from the live versions. Grant Singer [who directed videos "Sad Dream" and "Everything Is Embarrassing" from Ghost] will direct the first video from "You're Not the One." That'll be really cool. That'll kick off the EP, with four or five songs, then a few months later, I'll come out with the album. I'm so excited. – Source –

Thanks! And LOL at "tumblr generation" if that isn't a thing/phrase people use already, it should definitely be one.

Me too!! I'm hoping going to college helps out with that. I mean out of a class of ~1,200 there's GOT to be someone who knows about her… right?

You know, I really don't see the point of making a "US version" of the Royals video especially if the original video (at least on YouTube) is: a. also available b. has more views c. is longer I mean, unless US-only ads or "watch Lorde's music video, Royals"-type promo link straight to the US version, wouldn't anyone who searches YouTube just watch the original instead for the reasons stated above? Anyways, I don't think releasing a US version of the video is stupid or pointless; I just think it's strange and kinda (at least to me) redundant.

Not sure if endlessly jealous or happy for you On a side note, I just thought I'd introduce myself (a bit). I've been a huge fan of Sky's since I discovered her music back in March. I like literally became a fan overnight: one day I have no idea who Sky Ferreira is, by the next I'd listened to EIE 9 times. A couple weeks later and I'd gotten all her officially released music and the unreleased stuff at the skyferreirasource megapost. In my rush to find more info about the upcoming album, I found this thread, so I've actually been following you guys' conversation for quite a while now. So um, hi, everyone!
