  1. I personally won't be listening to the leaks this time around, but I will listen to more singles if she chooses to release any more. This record seems really special and deserves a listen on midnight March 10th
  2. I thought I was the only one to notice the Ride/Ocean Blvd parallels, thanks for expanding!!
  3. I cannot wait to hear "The Grants." I know there's going to be a sick transition that will make the beginning of TUBO clear
  4. Kind of in the same boat, but for a different reason. Everything spilled about this album so far is what I expected in my head Blue Banisters to sound like after I heard the three singles and saw the album cover.
  5. Anyways, I think "Fingertips," "Candy Necklace," and "Grandfather, please stand over my father's shoulders while he deep sea fishes" will be my Ocean Blvd trifecta. What are you predicting from the tracks we know so far?
  6. Yeah, the best medium to listen to Blue Banisters is vinyl. I'm not home nearly enough to enjoy it, but it's always so lovely when I do
  7. Absolutely. Nothing will beat Honeymoon in that department, but I have a lot of hope for Ocean Blvd because the title track sounds magnificently clear to me
  8. I don't like Happiness is a Butterfly for its flat ass piano, but it's much more of a pleasant listening experience than California
  9. Omg yeah I hate NFR's california for the same reasons you mentioned. It sounds like it has the bones of a really great track, but the life has been sucked out of it. My least fave on NFR hands down.
  10. Blue Banisters is one of those albums that I enjoy relaxing at home with or getting work done with. It's her most gentle and soothing album, so it really helps me be productive. I personally think the album has some of her best lyricism to date (yes, some of her worst as well) You can't be a muse and be happy too, you can't blacken the pages with Russian poetry and be happy What I can promise is I'll lie down Like a bed of wildflowers And I'll always make the sheets Smell like gardenias wild at your feet And I nourish you hazily My father never stepped in When his wife would rage at me So I ended up awkward but sweet Later than hospitals and still on my feet Comfortably numb but with lithium came poetry California, homeland of the Gods Once I found my way but now I am lost Plenty of more examples, but it's a very comforting record for me, I love the lyricism on most of the tracks, and it's easy to wind down and let its melodies carry you away.
  11. I can hear the vocals in the chorus loud and clear, but I seriously hear no production via aux. It sounds like an acapella song...
  12. Yeah, Tunnel is crystal clear on any system I use to listen to music. Either BB was extremely rushed, or whoever mixed it needs to be terminated and never touch another Lana record again. DON'T FORGET ME
  13. Yeah, whoever mixed Drew's tracks on Blue Banisters needs to be fired. I can barely hear Arcadia on any system that isn't my car listening to the CD or headphones Aux? I have to turn that shit all the way up to even hear anything. Never happened with any Lana song before Blue Banisters
  14. I'm sure Drew's work on this album will be much better. She loves Fingertips, and Sweet sounds like it will be great
  15. Drew is very hit or miss for me so far. Don't love his work with Lana, don't hate it either
  16. Oh wow! Black Bathing Suit really is that song that is pointing us towards Ocean Blvd huh? I love when artists feel creatively free enough to start experimenting with structures and time signatures
  17. Given this burst in creativity after Chemtrails and the fact that this album consists of only new songs, I would say that she probably has one or two songs in the vault that will shape her next album
  18. I'm not too familiar with what's behind music, but has she ever experimented with time signatures before
  19. When I look back, tracing fingertips over plastic bags, I think I wish I could extrapolate some small intention or maybe get your attention for a minute or two.
