  1. i don't understand why we're acting this dramatic over lana deleting posts, like i get it was the music video snippet but this isn't anything notably unusual for her
  2. omg i love these, they remind me of bomb pops, a total lizzy grant vibe
  3. let's say they aren't reworked, i'm really not a fan of that 1. axl rose husband 2. super movie 3. pin up galore 4. fordham road 5. disco 6. hawaiian tropic 7. heavy hitter 8. methamphetamines 9. joshy & i 10. vacation 11. coconut & key lime pie 12. bentley 13. you're gonna love me 14. mermaid motel (demo)
  4. i'm not gonna lie, i would probably be the same way i'm obsessed with background vocals and i would probably be very picky about how they sound if i was recording a song, i don't think it's wrong that she's incredibly specific, but i understand that it can be frustrating

    Text Book

yeah i'm pretty sure that's what she means, like the "textbook" definition of "daddy issues", i can understand why she's being lowkey about it, since it's something that's mocked rentlessly, unfortunately
  6. and people will argue that lana shouldn't have complete control over her work which i think is really unfair? of course, her past work is great, but she should still have control over her work, and i'm not saying the producers shouldn't have any input, but she should have the final say, she's not stupid, she's created very beautiful works of art by herself, songs like disco, pawn shop blues, oh say can you see, elvis, super movie, etc. were all written & produced (at some points) by her and they're wonderful, she's a great artist and she's very creative, and at the end of the day, she's gonna do what she wants to do, and obviously right now she wants a more mellow, confessional sound for her work
  7. honestly it was really weird how everybody blamed jack, as if she wasn't going for a mellow, stripped-back sound either way, like you've said songs she did with rick, such as change, bartender, and happiness is a butterfly, are all stripped down & mellow, and obviously she's going for the same sound with different producers, it actually found it really irritating that everybody put the blame on jack, we can talk about how she possibily wanted him to be more experimental, but it's clear that she wants a more relaxed sound, and i'm not saying people should get angry at lana either, she should do whatever it is she wants with her art
  8. pawn shop blues music video vibes
  9. i absolutely agree she really tells a story and paints a picture with each individual song, you can feel the despair and catharsis of wildflower wildfire, the cautionary optimism and contemplation of text book, and the vulnerability and comfort of blue banisters
  10. i absolutely love that part of wildflower wildfire, such a powerful song
  11. i can understand why the production in wildflower wildfire is off-putting, but blue banisters' production sounds completely normal and fine? there's nothing rough about it, and honestly just because it doesn't have the most immaculate-sounding production doesn't mean it's any less of a quality, meaningful song, they are low-key and confessional, while salvatore & terrence loves you are more cinematic, and they are almost six years old, i don't think it's a completely fair comparison
  12. is it wrong that i don't really care about a music video? i just care about the music itself...
  13. honestly when i first heard the "tex & mex" line i thought she meant some sort of restaurant
  14. wildflower wildfire is still my favorite out of the three, but they're all amazing
  15. they're a glorified popularity contest, i doubt she'll ever receive a grammy, unfortunately, but she doesn't need a grammy
  16. probably a very long time ago when was the last time you ate sushi?

    Song vs. Song

    old money vs. french restaurant
  18. her father is listed as "donald-hill trump" her entire page is riddled with "allegedly"
  19. i never understood why people call her a "pop girl" when she's really not a pop artist, i know the definition of "pop music" isn't really clear, some people think pop music is "popular music" and some people (including myself) see it as a genre, songs like diet mountain dew, radio, and without you definitely feel like "pop" songs but a lot of her work is alternative, rock, or folk, you couldn't convince me that bel air, is this happiness, cruel world, swan song, yosemite, etc. are pop songs
  20. the chorus of text book reminds me of the chorus of tv in black & white
  21. i feel like there's intention behind the single covers wildflower wildfire & text book, both songs about having troubled relationships with her parents, and how it's affected her, her face is slightly distorted in both covers, her face looks slightly vacant because of the distortion, and there's "bruises" on her chest, the background is blurry and distorted, the covers themselves look more lq, the cover for text book is blue & cold, the cover for wildflower wildfire is more colorful blue banisters, a song celebrating the women in her life who have helped her... her face is not distorted, her face is not "vacant" looking, her skin is rosier and there's no bruises, the image looks clear, and there's a glowing full-moon behind her, the moon symbolizes femininity obviously they're still very strange single covers and they aren't necessarily good looking objectively, but i really like how they're slightly intentional, i'm not saying everybody should love them, or even enjoy them at all, because i'm aware they're still... picsart edits but you could also say that was intentional, since they're more raw and less professional
  22. i know some people feel differently, but even if i don't really like an album cover, it doesn't really affect how i feel about the music itself, i never liked the album cover for "she hangs brightly" by mazzy star, yet i still think it's a great album, although i think a folk/alt. rock band from the 90s that wasn't as well-known (at the time) is different from a pretty well-known alternative artist who's known for her aesthetics and visuals, i don't think blue banisters' cover is objectively good, definitely not, but if that's the album cover, i won't be that angry about it, i care more about the music at the end of the day, but i understand why people may feel differently
  23. she has this entire pre-release thread falling apart over a selfie... her impact!
