I would be happy if she finds some new people to work with. Something about Jacks production seems very surface level, it's very safe sounding. The songs I listed above do a really good job at evoking emotion and artistical depth, at least, better than NFR did. These songs are simple, straight to the point, but I wouldn't describe them as tame. Even in their simplicity they are still ambitious and beautiful.

Wow, this. I want to be proud of being the devoted Lana fan that I am but it's hard. I'd feel embarrassed to talk about how much I love her and how much her work has inspired me and made me happy but also having to explain that she did a really mediocre song with Ariana & Miley and having to clarify that I was really disappointed in her. And although my heart belongs to some of her earlier works, I still love what she has in her main discography and I don't want some of her more questionable choices to overshadow that. I feel like she isn't taking herself seriously, and it's not in a good way either.

What makes the Ultraviolence and Honeymoon videos different is that they were undeniably her, and they didn't feel forced in any way, she didn't need to pull anything immature or shocking to make it good. She made them because she wanted to add to the art of the music. I didn't get that from this video.

I watched the video. I think the NFR video was the only part I can say I really enjoyed, I was really disappointed in the Bartender video, and the HIAB video was okay but pretty forgettable. Bartender and HIAB both have so much potential, she could of done something much more than her driving around throwing doughnuts at cars and frolicking with her dancers. I don't even mind the homemade look, because it can be done beautifully and we know she's capable of that.

I think if she does it in a subtle manner, such as the Is It Wrong reference in Love Song, then it would work very well. It's a lot of fun catching references to her past works.
