  1. I've always admired how she seems to genuinely enjoy her free time, alone or not. A lot of celebrities look stiff/posed/self conscious but she always seems relaxed.

(and I don't mind the weight gain but she could stop touching her face which was already perfect).

  2. I'd like to know what made her "click" that changed her mindset and message almost overnight. Doing charity openly, saying she doesn't drive fast, not singing Cola, stating she doesn't like her old tattoos, the lyrics to Get Free, Heroin, and so on. It's like she realized how influencial she really is now or something. Maybe the panic attacks and the fear of dying affected her deeply, I don't know. While I miss the unapologetic persona she used to convey, I prefer the person she has become, more humane and conscious.

  3. I believe this song is about Hollywood, the entertainment industry, and the toxic environment that these people live in. The lyrics

    Gone is the burden
Of the Crowley way of being

    and

I never really noticed that I had to decide
To play someone's game or live my own life

    are very telling.

    Also, remember Prisoner?

I think I've been in Hollywood for too long cause I can feel my soul burning, feel it burning slow

I get so wrapped up in a world where nothing's as it seems and real life is stranger than my dreams

  4. yeah but like .. why would u credit someone if u don't release it. lana was no one back then and she didn't make any money out of it, It's like soundcloud or youtube producers making covers or remixes :rip:

I agree. What I wanted to point out in my first post was that she is always brought to these controversies, unluckily for Lana this isn't the first time she is accused of unoriginality, when it's probably unintentional since she has no problem referencing her inspirations.

  5. but wasn't this like.. actually sampled in the demo, it was literally them using the same audio file.

then they went all out to re record it completely and basically remake the instrumental themselves

both versions weren't released tho bc they're all pre btd AAANd they were demos she can sample whatever she wants in her unreleased demos she just needs permission to release it.

Yes, but my point was that she was being "accused" at the time, too. And the band wasn't totally pleased by the lack of credits but maybe my memory fails me about that :um2: .

    Edit:

    De Kift

If you like the drums and bass of this song, please check the original version from our record released in 1989. The song is called "Blind" and the band's name "De Kift". We would have given permission, but she never asked...

  6. Do people think she was genuinely depressed during the UV era? or was she writing about a time in her life when she wasn't happy? I think she was fairly healthy during the release of UV. I think she's been pretty happy ever since 2012. I personally think UV was just her telling stories about how she used to be sad. What makes you think she was sad during the UV era?

the title track of UV definitely has a sad connotation--but I don't think she was depressed during the UV era. she created some of her best art during that era!

Rob said that the backlash that she received from her country really affected her

  7. It's on the Daily Mail Snapchat. Mess

It's interesting because I had no idea who Harvey Weinstein was before but always thought he seemed very creepy in that top picture (but stopped myself thinking I was being judgemental).

Also, the most important news source in my country reported about Lana and this whole thing so I imagine this is known worldwide now.

  8. There's a very interesting comment on genius.com about a possible meaning:

“Jumping off from the walls, into the docks and shit”

The above are the correct lyrics for latter part of bridge, clarified by Apple Music. Below is my research in support of the correction.

Lana is referencing the 1969 Tate/Manson Murders:

“Topanga’s hot today, Manson’s in the air”, “Writin' in blood on my walls and shit”.

Lana is a fan of The Beach Boys, she references their 1964 hit “Don’t Worry Baby” at the end of “Love”.

Charles Manson (Cult Leader) befriended Dennis Wilson of The Beach Boys in the late 60s in hopes that Wilson would be able to help him secure a recording contract. For a time the Manson Family lived with Wilson in his mansion, there they took extensive advantage of Wilson’s famous generosity, threw chaotic-drug fuelled parties, ran up expensive bills and crashed one of his cars.

    Wilson eventually had the
Family evicted from his home, and despite his best efforts wasn’t able to convince his brothers or music industry ties that Charles Manson was worthy of signing.

This infuriated Manson who dreamed of using rock-stardom as a means of sharing his twisted message of a looming apocalyptic race war, misogyny and violence decided Wilson would “have to pay”.

Though Manson never exerted his revenge on Wilson after the perceived betrayal, the episode haunted Wilson until the end of his life, in fact, he practically refused to speak about it. It is believed Wilson’s paranoia over Manson sending a cult member to kill him inflamed his alcoholism and drug use which marred him until the end of his life.

On December 28th 1983 Dennis Wilson died.

He jumped, drunkenly, from the dock into the waters of the MARINA DEL REY.

Don't know how reliable it could be because I don't know anything about Dennis Wilson.
