My venue is about the same size as this one, among the smallest amps from this leg, and from what I've seen so far from Nikki's set, the pit looks super tiny and gives it a really intimate feeling. I had her sign my Suburban Rap Queen CD at a show some years back and she was so shocked that I had it Champagne is a lyrical masterpiece and sooo fun to rap alongside to. Driving through the bay, pray for understanding, I’ll be silent for a day, wait until I vanish and I’m fighting for a break Vacant kind of passion never really can account for all the ways in which I’ve acted Tried to call my daddy but he’s been gone a decade, so I’m drinking like an addict ‘til I’m fucking with a headache Happiness sporadic so I’m crying on a Wednesday, not trying to be combative but I’m dealing with some dead weight Verbalise the hurt inside, make me wanna burn alive My heart was never broken it was circumcised! Her early EPs/mixtapes are actually probably my favourite works overall. I relate to so much of it. Her early work has such a unique sound and incredible writing. She shocks me with her lyrics sometimes, in a good way. One of her most creatively shocking lyrics for me is actually from Champagne - “my heart was never broken, it was circumsised” Like who else would think of that?? Just like you, that was initially one of my least favourites from the record, but now it’s one of my favourites among her whole discography. I’ve actually done a few karaoke renditions of it with friends because I’m able to impress everyone during the fast rapping parts lmaooo. Solutions definitely felt a bit uninspired, but IV/OV really is great and she goes back towards more of the sound from EWISW. If I had to choose my top 3 from it I’d say Caramel and Symphonies, Nothing Can Kill Us, and The Muck… but there’s sooo many tracks I love from that record and there’s maybe only 2 or 3 that I don’t quite click with from it. Whereas with Solutions, it’s the other way around - there’s only about 3 I click with and I could do without the others. Not In California is a great standout from that record though x

EWISW & LAAD are still my favourite K.Flay albums alongside her previous EPs. I will agree that Solutions is her weakest project, but she picked up again with Inside Voices / Outside Voices which were two EPs that she then repackaged into a full album with additional tracks. Definitely give that a listen if you haven’t already. There’s so many standouts on that record that I was beginning to type out my favourites and then realised I listed nearly the whole album lol. Her newest record MONO comes out in one week from today, and both singles are really good especially Raw Raw x

I am too! I feel there’s going to be some really personal songs, which are always my favourite from her. She just has such a unique way of storytelling which is why she’s one of my favourite artists. Both singles she’s out out already are total bangers, so I’m looking forward to more of those too. I’m claiming Perfectly Alone! She talked about the song briefly near the end of a recent interview which has gotten me excited for the track, especially since I related to a lot of what she said in the interview. I literally replayed the video 5+ times lol x
