I’m on my first listen through of the full album (wasn’t including the first 3 singles before). I’ve just got to new shapes from crash and wow it goes off so hard. It’s straight up ear candy with lyrics that HIT. V underrated. It’s like Out of my head all over again.

An Ava feature on UTKM would be hella on brand

Yeah. I was just thinking to myself earlier today about how fucking excellent this sounds. relistening to it now tho I feel like can already tell it’s almost definitely too short/ends at the high point of the song, but either way the huge drums into the screech ending is going to make for an epic album opener.

Maybe its bc I’m high rn but I think this is my most anticipated moment of the album campaign thus far. Except for maybe the day of the new shapes SNL performance. (before the world was robbed of it) So all the teasing worked!

The percussion throughout the entire song is 😍 that specific part is the pinnacle to me. especially with Christine’s “new shapes baby” layers & adlibs.

CTMP is a cool ass song. If I ever got to pick one unreleased for Charli to finish and release I think that would have to be it for me.

They both look so good. The shots of Charli on her knees in the dirt turned me str8.

when they announced the US release date I remember reading that the UK release date was still TBD

It’s always been pretty bad on here tbh. 2018-2019 People loved then hated 1999, hated that BIOYL was even being released, were divided over Gone cuz the “vocals were mixed weird” constantly complained about how “awful” 2099 was gonna be (before it was even released), never stopped complaining that she doesn’t do enough solo songs(even when the featured artists elevate the song), complained that she does too much PC music type stuff, now they’re complaining that she’s too basic.

Alone together supposed to be out in the US this Friday as well. Has anyone heard anything of it playing anywhere or which VOD service it will be available on?

Ok so New Shapes is incredibly well written and produced. Like this song is perfectly crafted. I truly don’t understand the people that are saying it’s basic or disjointed? My best guess is that some of y’all aren’t versed enough in the inspo(or 80s rhythmic/dance-pop in general)? Also Christine and Caroline really elevate the song, allowing New Shapes to outclass Good Ones IMO (& I mean no hate to good ones, but it is the more basic of the two). Plus I love when Charli has a girl group moment, it really ups the replayability of the song for me. Also why is no one talking about how much it slays lyrically? The song kinda ripped my heart out but made me dance whilst. Charli serves us her usual avoidant attached self, but then we get Christine & Caroline to give us the flip side experience of the anxious attached partner (which HITS for me). It’s a bop with depth y’all!

OUT OUT serving nostalgia in the best way. Charli’s giving 2010-11 Wynter Gordon/Eva Simons/Alexandra Stan and I’m eating it UP.

I think it’s misleading to say Electra Heart was way bigger than Sucker because commercially that is absolutely not true. Electra heart was a commercial flop in the US, the album peaked at #31, Marina is famous for saying that she bankrupted her label shooting the 11 videos for that album & none of the singles made it to the BB hot 100. The biggest mainstream thing that happened for Marina that era was glee doing htbaheartbreaker which turned on some ppl to her, but otherwise no one in the general population knew any Marina song. Sucker peaked a little higher than EH (#28) and had a top 10 hit & if you played boom clap or fancy, pretty much anyone would recognize it; but neither of them really had any name recognition. However, Electra heart was a cult hit and Marina got a good cult following from it, & to this day Marina plays bigger venues in the US than Charli. PS Drama slaps

I’d be super obsessed with spinning if it wasn’t distorted/compressed to hell & back. Like whyyyyyyy?! There is no depth, the layers are completely drowned out. I’ve played with the EQ and tried better headphones... idk, hoping it grows on me.

maybe im wrong but i dont think some of the songs that were recommended are the vibe u said ur looking for. The sad yet euphoric party vibe songs are: pop2: Porsche, Out of my head, Backseat, Tears charli: Gone, Silver Cross, Blame it on your love, Warm, February 2017 n1a: 3am, blame it on u Then others to start with: Take my hand, 1999, Unlock It, Lipgloss, Femmebot, No Angel

Speaking of XCX world, here’s an obligatory post about wanting to know why CTMP (HQ)’s mix sounds like garbage. I almost prefer the MQ CTMP b/c it, somehow, sounds like the mix is better! Someone please leak the stems or a better mix ?
