The production for feb 2017 is nice, with the exception of that tapping snare drum or whatever it is in the first verse. The high end of that should have been toned way down! it really bothers my ears, they are literally ringing rn and I didn’t even listen at a high volume. The percussion in CRJ’s this kiss also does this to me, am I crazy or does anybody relate?

Def best to least for me Irrelevant musicians? I enjoy all the songs so dont put like too much emphasis on bottom half it’s just I got the most love, enjoyment & replayability for the ones up top I think u guys just value different things in music, for me it’s mostly about a good/catchy melody, timbre(vocal and production), and lyrics. Songs like Delicious & Lucky aren’t really songs that are very catchy or mood uplifting they aren’t traditional pop, the vocal delivery in those songs are kind of grating & take getting used to, it took me a lot of listens to start finding things I like about them, vs a song like OOMH which all 3 of the vocal performances have beautiful & emotional timbre, the melody is insane/the song is almost instantly stuck in your head and the lyrics resonate with me quite a bit, like a ton actually.

Ok, 1.) How do any of y’all call urselves Charli stans and skip ANY song on Pop2??? 2.) How do you call urself a stan and not see how much Charli elevated Femmebot in comparison to the demo? Like she really owned the fuck out of her verse and chorus, & made it her own. Ugh her mind, adding Dorian & Mykki also helped take the song to the next level. She really brought the whole femmebot fantasy to life, quit sleeping on her curating skillz and give a bitch some credit like dayum.. y’all really try to make her sound like a talentless hag. 3.) The clear obvious definitive & correct pop2 ranking is as follows: OOMH, Femmebot, Unlock it, Porsche, Backseat, Track 10, I got it, Tears, Lucky, Delicious.

Y’all are so messy and have no idea what you want. First you HAVE to have a “real album” Then when she decides to do it, you trash it endlessly before it’s even released. You complain that it lacks cohesion KNOWING DAMN WELL you are all going to arrange it in the order you prefer to listen to it anyway. Additionally I’ve seen several people already talk about what remix they are gonna replace 1999 with... Therefore literally the whole lacking cohesion talking point is already mitigated, stupid, unnecessary, and toxic. Also I guess after 4 weeks ppl hate gone now? There wasn’t a soul on here not admitting the song was good regardless of how ya felt about the mixing... but now it’s trash? Ok. Similarly with 1999, you know the entire reason the album isn’t being shelved... again.

I honestly have no opinion on Umru, but I’m gonna have to second this. Do y’all not remember this direct quote from the fader’s Charli & AG interview in Dec 2017 ? “CHARLI: For me, now, it’s a necessity. I record with Auto-Tune all the time, and I basically have done for the last three years solid. I feel very insecure singing without it. I feel nervous and really panicked. It allows me to be way more fearless when I’m in the studio, because I hate the sound of my own voice without it. I’ve really got it in my head that I have no pitch any more. I’m also the biggest Kanye fan. I think that has something to do with it.” You’ve said this multiple times; feels like you’re really TRYING to hate this song before it’s even been released. Just wait until it comes out and give it a fair chance. Personally I’m hoping every track is going to be great, so then even IF 2099 (or any other song) happens to be the “worst” on the album it would still end up being a good/enjoyable song.

Ah ok I kinda got that vibe when I very first listened to it. I actually didn’t like it first listen. But then it grew on me, I started to appreciate the subtleties and realized every single part of that song is a hook. Minimalistic songs like that really grow on me. Really? See I think Alma’s voice has never sounded better than it does on OOMH. I can’t imagine anyone else singing the chorus as good as she does(or as good as I think she does). And Charli’s part is smaller, but for me this is a case of quality over quantity, I think her verse and ad-libs go off!

OOMH is Charli’s magnum opus as a curator and party music genius. Literally the song makes me feel as tho I just popped a molly. I will never understand how anyone could dislike that song.

Ok yes most of the rest of the Spanish speaking world does pronounce it with an “s” but in Spain where Ibiza is located they pronounce it the same as in the UK and Ireland so that was my basis for saying what I said about Europeans. You saying that only English ppl say eye-beetha is not true. Also those songs I was referencing are sung in English not in Spanish? My main point being “when in Rome do as the romans do” imo the correct way to pronounce it is the way the people in Spain pronounce it, again being as that Ibiza is IN SPAIN. I wasn’t coming for Kat/Jlo I was just being funny and trying to justify why ppl might get confused on how it is/should be pronounced. Spanish like any other language has many different dialects/pronunciations so it’s obvi going to be subjective.

Ibiza is correctly pronounced like iBeetha, all brits/Europeans say it that way. Eh-beeza is the incorrect pronounciation. Thank Kat Deluna, JLo/pitbull for pronouncing it wrong so it could rhyme with africa/afreeka

But i love the justice for Out of my head. So underrated. Everything is a hook the beat (dun-dun, dun dun dun dun-dun), the percussion in the chorus is like almost directly lifted from the beatbox part of NSYNC’s Pop so its v familiar & super addictive, the chorus really compliments almas voice, tove’s “need you out” post-chorus refrain is everything, def charli’s catchiest song and one of her best verses on pop 2 IMO.

I always go back and read an excerpt from the fader interview in 2016 and imagine what it was like for the author dude to hear it in HQ a year before it even leaked... “Perhaps owing to how fast the album was recorded, the new songs are easily the most straightforward she’s ever made, and the most joyful-sounding too.
