  1. While I agree with a lot of this, I do think she'll be remembered in 50 years. Her albums have already been reevaluated after a couple of years and she's actually unique with timeless music unlike her chart-hungry contemporaries. I could see her music garnering a reputation similar to that of Lou Reed (to a lesser extent of course). He was despised by critics/the GP in the 60s-70s, but now is seen as a highly influential auteur.
  2. Why do so many people miss that Sad Girl is supposed to be sarcastic and a play on cliches? People always interpret it literally and think it's a song about Lana being sad.
  3. But the audios were uploaded on YouTube and released on iTunes for WC and Ride in April and September, respectively.
  4. It's usually two months with Lana...Video Games being the exception at three. Video Games October 2011 (official release) - BTD January 2012 Ride September 2012 - Paradise November 2012 West Coast April 14, 2014 - UV June 13, 2014
  5. Seriously, though. I'm dying for solid news. I know Lana loves being enigmatic, but I wish she could just give us a damn single release date ahead of time.
  6. How awesome would this style be for Honeymoon if she does go the film noir route ^ Veronica Lake in the 40s ^Rita Hayworth in Gilda The queen of film noir, Lauren Bacall.
  7. The Life is Beautiful painting also portrays Billie Holiday, one of Lana's favorite jazz singers. It's older, though.
  8. We could get a lot worse for the token Heath track, so I would be more than happy if it turns out to be LiB. Besides, we've only heard an edited snippet.
  9. Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood Life is Beautiful (???)
  10. I think her accent makes it sound like that, but the first word sounds like swan to me. The booklet has so many errors, though. Who can be sure?
  11. In the bridge..."sing your swan song and you're alive again." It's incorrectly listed as "song song" in the booklet
  12. I heard them say "swan" a couple of times before she said "I actually have a song on my record called Sw..." I could see her having a super depressing song called "Swan Song."
  13. https://mobile.twitter.com/itshuntermarie/status/604459094737600512 So, apparently there's a song on Honeymoon with the word "swan" in the title.
  14. This is what I'm thinking as well. Dan Heath worked on another track for the film, so he probably asked Lana if he could use the track they did for HM for the trailer.
  15. I could see that, but that's sort of what I associate Lana Del Ray with. Well, that and palm trees.
  16. Omg And I'm seeing them in October
  17. I don't think we were ever getting a straight-up jazz album, but something organic and bluesy would be nice.
  18. I had such high hopes for MTWBT being a bluesy bop, but now we're getting excessive beats with the loon and someone shouting.
  19. True, but it feels like he will be the main producer. Hopefully, it's split with Mark. I'm seriously lowering expectations in case we're getting a watered down version of BTD instead of the jazzy album we all want.
  20. http://www.nme.com/news/lana-del-rey/85763?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=lanadelrey So Haynie is doing the majority of the production? Hmm...I was hoping she would work primarily with Ronson. This isn't good news, IMO. This album is very important for her trajectory as an artist and she needed to try something new, but she's decided to go back to work with Haynie who couldn't diversify his sound to save his life. I remember she said she wasn't crazy about the production on BTD...I wonder if the label is pressuring this to repeat the commercial success.
